John Q Public Posted June 24, 2025 at 05:19 PM Posted June 24, 2025 at 05:19 PM I'm surprised you would publish a client name in public. I'm sure you are going to counter they gave you permission, but even so, I think it bad form. References given, upon request... ~Private~
gunuser17 Posted June 24, 2025 at 07:14 PM Posted June 24, 2025 at 07:14 PM (edited) Not sure what the concern would be here given that the judgement identifies the issue and the client and the lawyer is easily identifed in other pleadings - all public information. While lawyers typically get the client's permission to identify them in advertising, doing so is not uncommon. Edited June 24, 2025 at 07:14 PM by gunuser17
lawman Posted June 24, 2025 at 10:58 PM Posted June 24, 2025 at 10:58 PM Rule 1.6 of the Illinois Rules of Professional Conduct prohibits the disclosure of the specifics of the case and client communication even though it is public record, unless the client consents. Any lawyer should know this, and would have gotten his client's permission to disclose his name and results.

John Q Public Posted June 27, 2025 at 05:42 PM Posted June 27, 2025 at 05:42 PM (edited) Yes, we all get the same say, so you may move along without tagging me or him. This is not the business part of the forum, you pay for that, or post in that section. You are not the forum admin. I have the same right to post my thoughts as him, and not be judged by you. Let the forum mods decide what is appropriate. "Move on." JQ Edited June 27, 2025 at 05:50 PM by John Q Public
