Flynn Posted March 1, 2025 at 12:03 AM Posted March 1, 2025 at 12:03 AM This is just downright laughable... Quote The proposal would increase the definition of large capacity magazines from 10 rounds of ammunition to 15 rounds. For our agency to be successful, the Special Licensing and Firearms Unit (SLFU) would need additional personnel and resources to ensure accurate records. The SLFU would need to adjust the number of possessed magazines people have previously declared if the new maximum capacity increases. This will take time and personnel to do, which are not provided for in the Governor’s budget. https://www.cga.ct.gov/2025/psdata/TMY/2025HB-07052-R000227-Higgins, Ronnell, Commissioner-DESPP-Opposes-TMY.PDF
JTHunter Posted March 1, 2025 at 04:08 AM Posted March 1, 2025 at 04:08 AM Read that as "That's too much like 'real' work! We don't want to work that hard!" 🤮
SiliconSorcerer Posted March 3, 2025 at 03:06 PM Posted March 3, 2025 at 03:06 PM Would be interesting to know how much we are paying for all these legal battles with the state over unconstitutional laws. Illinois is broke but we keep it up.
ragsbo Posted March 3, 2025 at 07:42 PM Posted March 3, 2025 at 07:42 PM Sounds like a bull crap piss in your ear lame excuse and no where near a valid reason for anything!

The real cost is what the citizen has to pay to get his day in court. One person suggested that when it comes to defending a law that is unconstitutional, that the congress critters that passed it and the governor that signed it should have to do it out of their own pockets just as the citizen has to. Now that would be interesting to see . AND YES I know that will never happen but it does show the disparity in the process.

Ranger Posted March 24, 2025 at 08:25 PM Posted March 24, 2025 at 08:25 PM I don't think they should be forced to do that work and taxpayers shouldn't be out that cost. Just help them out by making all magazines legal.
mab22 Posted March 27, 2025 at 03:04 PM Posted March 27, 2025 at 03:04 PM That's an interesting angle. The Executive branch changing the law without the Congress? Chuck judicial review and it would get even better.
