There are probably millions of surplus AK variants out there that are being cut up and brought in as pieces to be rebuilt with compliant parts vs importing the entire rifle like they used to, I'm talking about those 'cheap' rifles being allowed to be imported once again instead of being cut up into parts for reassembly with compliant parts at extra cost, I'm not talking about newly manufactured imports, but they would be nice as well...  And regardless of any superiority claims, I like the rawness of the AK and would love to have several old school hunk of junk, dirt cheap surplus variants from around the world, just to have, owning a firearm isn't always about owning the best...  Same with several other foreign firearms that are now banned from import, that must come in as parts to be reassembled, it would be nice to see those import restrictions lifted and allow them to once again be imported as whole firearms...

All glory is fleeting. EOs can be good, until the next guy negates them. Depends on what is done legislatively when all the studying is done. We will see, there is an election in less than 2 years. The Republicans need to get together on a lot of issues to keep the country running. They are not as singleminded as the Dems. We will see.

I'm not sure I agree.  Prior to the Clinton Ban, I bought a Norinco with the milled receiver (not stamped) and a slightly longer and heavier barrel.  I don't remember what I paid for it 30 years ago but IIRC, it was less expensive than ANY AR I saw at that gunshow.

That's back when you couldn't touch ANY AR for less than $1,200

Pre-import ban, note the bottom left, you got the complete kit even the bayonet for that price...

The furniture on mine has a thumbhole stock, not pistol grip.  It also doesn't have the bayonet lug or the cleaning rod.  The rod came with the gun but not tucked underneath.  It is stamped as a MAK-91.

Unless I'm mistaken, Pam Bondi's response to Trump's EO was due back to him on Sunday the 9th. Did I miss something? I haven't heard a peep about her response. Maybe it's in the pile on her desk under the Epstein files. LOL...not a great start for AG Bondi this far. Call me skeptical, but so far, other than the DOGE actions, the Tariff wars, and the ongoing Ukraine drama....not much is happening yet. 

Don't get me wrong, I fully understand with the amount of damage done by the previous admin, it could take a dang long time to get to the simpler things like our basic rights, but I'm patient. Living in Illinois kinda forces that on me.

You are right. I have yet to see ANYONE hauled off in handcuffs for the crap they have found so far.

Perhaps she's busy restoring the gun rights of Mel Gibson and other felons...

Great question, there may be movement?  There might be more happening than the flash headlines indicate per the perspective below.  But I understand your frustration try to share your patience.  As you noted, so much damage to undo... and I am at least thankful that more 2A damage isn't being done at the moment.
