Hatchet Posted January 26, 2024 at 11:42 PM Posted January 26, 2024 at 11:42 PM Looking to pick up a 9mm. One gun shop worker I know was saying the Canik firearms are nice. Anyone have any experience or thoughts about them? https://www.canikusa.com/tp9sf-elite-tungsten

That one had a few issues upon release. Other than that, 👍

billzfx4 Posted January 27, 2024 at 01:15 AM Posted January 27, 2024 at 01:15 AM I got a Mete MC9 for my weekday carry, I love it. Capacity for the size is great and it shoots very well.
FLMOPE Posted January 27, 2024 at 01:25 AM Posted January 27, 2024 at 01:25 AM My question concerning Caniks would be the availability of holsters and aftermarket parts. I had a guy want one for a duty type gun and couldn't find a duty type holster

Canik is starting to make accessories themselves, triggers, barrels, and RDS. As far as duty weapons, you can't go wrong with going with the common brands. Each mfr offers awesome discounts, you might want to take advantage of that.
Hatchet Posted January 27, 2024 at 02:09 AM Author Posted January 27, 2024 at 02:09 AM Well looks I need to go put some hands on grips to see if I like the feel. Thanks all.
Dumak_from_arfcom Posted January 27, 2024 at 05:06 AM Posted January 27, 2024 at 05:06 AM Solid. They ripped off the P99 from Walther and made it better IMO.
soundguy Posted January 27, 2024 at 11:20 AM Posted January 27, 2024 at 11:20 AM Turkish guns seem to be pretty solid. I've been reading about them for years and currently have two Turkish High Powers, three if you count the Springfield Armory version. The two pistols finished in Turkije are superior to the one finished in Geneseo, IL, and the price was lower. Cheers, Tim

Rangerdeepv Posted April 28, 2024 at 02:57 PM Posted April 28, 2024 at 02:57 PM They are great for the price. I personally don't care for them though.
RandyP Posted April 28, 2024 at 04:17 PM Posted April 28, 2024 at 04:17 PM By all accounts the Turkish arms that make it into the USA market are solid, reliable and quite affordable. I'm luvin' my Silver Eagle 20ga semi-auto. I normally turn to Hickok45 on YouTube for honest, agenda free gun reviews and he had some good things to say about the Canik handguns.
bladesandbezels Posted June 16, 2024 at 03:25 AM Posted June 16, 2024 at 03:25 AM Great for the money, but not “great” imo.
Nod Posted June 16, 2024 at 02:43 PM Posted June 16, 2024 at 02:43 PM I have the Canik C-100 in 9mm. It's my everyday carry. It's basically a clone of a CZ 75 Compact. It is very well made, shot dead on right out of the box. Never had a malfuction.
illinois_buckeye Posted August 24, 2024 at 07:35 AM Posted August 24, 2024 at 07:35 AM No experience with Canik myself, but if you are looking at budget options as well, the Taurus g series pistols are pretty hard to beat. Especially their g3, g3c, etc. They seem to be plentiful and have a decent following, so I think there’s a bit of aftermarket for them. But Canik appears to have some nice firearms as well.
SiliconSorcerer Posted August 28, 2024 at 12:31 PM Posted August 28, 2024 at 12:31 PM I bought a p226 clone from them many years ago when they first popped up. It was so cheap I just had to try it. It's now buried somewhere but I remembering being impressed for the money and no problems, it was a keeper.
