Pritzker support for mandatory storage and insurance requirement?

Are there bills in the works for mandatory storage, and insurance requirements?

I seen an email from ISRA Victory fund raiser that mentioned the following.

Quote

Gov. Pritzker made it pretty clear that he will support mandating firearms storage in your home and require gun owners to carry insurance.

The legislature and Executive branch seem to be pushing/passing everything that has already failed at the federal level. I'm sure suing them at the "state level" is bound to yield significant results. 🙄

HB676 was amended in the House to include creation of a task force on firearm insurance.  It passed over to the Senate on 5/12/2023.  There have also been some storage bills filed, but they haven't seen as much traction.

That one has so much in it, no discharge within 1000 yards of residential structures.

Need a FOID for prepacked explosives.

Task force on Insurance  with report due by end of the year, get ready for that one.

Firearm SEIZURE from protective orders. Can only surrender to law enforcement, no transfers.

"Requires the court to immediately upon the entry of the order of protection prohibiting firearm possession issue a seizure order of any firearm in the possession of the respondent. Provides that the respondent shall be ordered to immediately surrender any firearms to the appropriate law enforcement agency and prohibited from transferring firearms to another individual in lieu of surrender to law enforcement."

That makes me wonder, if they TAKE your firearms away from you, do they have to reimburse you for the items they seized?

Given their obvious....and vigorous....efforts to combat crime in the Chicago/Cook area, we can be certain that harassing law abiding gun owners is the last thing on the Democrats' minds.

Here's an example of the 'efforts'. Hard to believe, but this is not in purple.

Chicago gangs asked to stop shooting from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.: ‘You’re getting little kids killed’ (msn.com)

Why wouldn't  they not push for and pass everything they can toward total firearm confiscation since they are never held accountable for the unconstitutional stuff they passed. The idea would be to pass everything they can and hope that either their bought off courts will up hold it or at least something will pass muster in the federal courts. They are playing the long game and will not stop until made to.

And leftists won't admit their draconian gun bans will solve nothing. Gang violence won't stop and the Dems won't ever touch Big Pharma profits that help create soul-less blank-stare zombies who go full-whacko in public. The self-abusers among them will continue committing suicide. Let them have their decadent immoral society.

Where can you buy prepackaged explosives?

We bought dynamite when I was a kid from the local hardware store but that was 50+ years ago.

The real answers to these problems are too complex and too difficult, and so deeply entrenched in dysfunctional social systems and politics, that they default to the easy answers - targeting people who are law abiding. LP

Only if you're working on the base causes.  The answer to recidivism is permanent elimination.
