Upon arrival in the House this bill was quickly read into the record, committee posting requirements were waived, and the bill was heard and approved for consideration by the House Judiciary - Criminal Committee. It has been moved from the Senate calendar to the House calendar today. Assuming the House adds session on Saturday, the bill will have enough time to be passed to the Governor. The House is scheduled for 5:00 PM. The Senate is not in. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the short title. Senate Amendment 1 - Adopted Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Firearms Restraining Order Act. Expands the definition of "petitioner" to include intimate partners. Amends the Unified Code of Corrections. Eliminates the repeal date of the statute creating the First Time Weapon Offender Program. Changes the name of the Program to the First Time Weapon Offense Program. Deletes a provision that a defendant is not eligible for the Program if he or she is 21 years of age or older.
