lilguy Posted May 10, 2023 at 12:42 PM Share Posted May 10, 2023 at 12:42 PM (edited) What options are available to anyone who wants to sell a listed item now? Can’t sell person to person, in state dealers won’t want them. What would heirs be able to do with items they have no use for or interest in? Jeffrey Posted May 10, 2023 at 01:24 PM Share Posted May 10, 2023 at 01:24 PM take them to the next buy back, that I'll hold in my garage.
Bubbacs Posted May 10, 2023 at 01:57 PM Share Posted May 10, 2023 at 01:57 PM I haven’t been keeping up what with the multiple threads. But my understanding is you can NOT SELL it period. And as I read there is nothing to stop you from GIVING to someone! Giving vs selling are two separate different transactions. That being said those wishing to GIVE to a USAF veteran can stop by my garage for drop offs! Saturday’s 10-
richp Posted May 10, 2023 at 02:03 PM Share Posted May 10, 2023 at 02:03 PM I made a point of amending my will to specifically identify to whom my guns were to be given upon my death. My thought was to remove any question or ambiguity about their legal disposition.

RECarry Posted May 10, 2023 at 06:24 PM Share Posted May 10, 2023 at 06:24 PM One idea is to renew friendships out of state with an FFL or someone who is equipped for storage. We'd provide our own safe as needed. That's temporary until we can orchestrate a move. Given the number of Chicago liberals moving to the collar counties, I will NOT be making improvements to our home that I might otherwise do out of goodwill. We left previous homes in pristine condition with new fixtures, clean kitchens, and no smudges on the walls. Now, we will not take kindly to LWW's trying to low-ball us or claw money back after the inspection. They made Illinois an inhospitable place for us, so deal with us leaving it As-Is. There's no difference between giving and selling. The recipient/transferee must be an FFL, cop, or other exempt person in-state or someone out-of-state. lilguy Posted May 11, 2023 at 02:03 AM Author Share Posted May 11, 2023 at 02:03 AM (edited) Cabelas in Illinois will not buy listed items. They are illegal now and thy wont take them. Was told any store in a contiguous state will accept them. Edited May 11, 2023 at 02:06 AM by lilguy
DoYouFeelLucky Posted May 11, 2023 at 02:40 AM Share Posted May 11, 2023 at 02:40 AM I know gun shops on the Iowa border are trying to pay fair prices for IL items. They are shipping some of those to their associates in central IA gun shops. We are starting to see more used items that were previously in IL. It also tells (approximately in several cases) when the gun was purchased or inherited and the serial numbers. Two electronic copies are on my computer and a relative's and hard copies at both places as well.
