Rejected 2nd time after I met criteria

Recommended Posts

Listed 9 years 7 months as addresses when I first submitted my app approx 6 months ago. First rejection I forgot to sign my training certificate that's on me but now I've met their 10 year requirement and still got rejected, a second time because they didn't bother to look at my resident history. So AGAIN I resubmit and have to wait the 120 days which will be 9 months. I'm a CCL from SC. I know that doesn't mean anything here but enough is enough. Can anyone help push this through??

Thank you,

No. It said rejected failure to provide 10 years. I provided 9 yrs an 7 months because that's all I could remember but that was when I applied approx 6 months ago. So now at this point following the first rejection due to the timing I was at 10 yrs. I provided April 2013 to present. That's 10 yrs at this point.

So basically the first time I was rejected the state of Illinois should have done their due diligence and looked at my entire application and listed all of the discrepancies for me to update / fix. Instead it seems after they saw the training certificate wasn't signed they stopped reviewing the application and rejected me. If they had listed both the training certificate unsigned and the 10yr residency requirement not met I could've corrected both and resubmitted and by now possibly approved. Instead they reject me a 2nd time for the residency and when I tried to correct it it would not change the time on the application.  I listed April 2013 to present. That's 10 yrs but the application only said 9 yrs 7 months. So now I've resubmitted and waiting ANOTHER 120 days to allow them to decide if I'm entitled to my constitutional right to bear arms. I was told to join this site because someone here could help but after speaking to my CCL instructor it seems I'm at the mercy of the Blue state of Illinois.

10 years of past residency as I understand.  Not 10 years straight at one place.  You’ve got to be over 21 so did you not live somewhere? Maybe parents home, friend, college.  I had 3 listed residency’s totaling 17 plus years.  None were 10 year straight.

Good Luck on the wait.  Not worth getting upset over.

I've moved so many times before I finally settled and honestly my son has the same name so his addresses come up as well...i see your point, but at this time I do have literally 10 yrs, ISP just didn't do their due diligence in reviewing the application. I'll take the 1st rejection because that was on me but there should not have been a second rejection if they had fully reviewed the application to begin with. But I'll be patient, and wait to see what excuse they come up with to reject me a 3rd time...

There shouldn’t have been a first rejection if you had done your due diligence and insured your application was complete and met the requirements. Sorry, this is on you and not the State.
Sure, the State could have assisted in insuring your entire app was complete and correct but the impetus to file a complete and correct app falls on you not the State. Here’s to hoping you didn’t make other errors on your app that’ll impact the process…

I disagree. As I stated the first rejection was on me. The second rejection stated I didn't cover the 10 yr residency which as I stated I did, April 2013 to present,  that's 10 yrs. In addition I held my CCL in my previous state and I understand every state is different but this state makes it seem like they look for reasons to reject you rather than help. Just my opinion, nothing more. I've resubmitted so we will wait and see what other reasons they can make to reject me a 3rd time.
