President Biden said in a speech on Wednesday that he's going to ban assault weapons and high capacity magazines "come heck or high water."

Biden made the comments at the House Democratic Caucus Issues Conference in Baltimore, Maryland, on Wednesday night.

"I know it may make some of you uncomfortable, but that little state above me, Delaware is one of them, has the highest rate, one of the highest rates of gun ownership. But guess what? We're going to ban assault weapons again come heck or high water and high capacity magazines. When we did it last time to reduce mass deaths," Biden said

He can't even walk a flight of stairs but believes he is going to take away a few hundred million guns from circulation?  What a good puppet that now deserves his cup of ice cream.

It is not these types of weapons that they (the rabid left) fear, it is the (law abiding) owners of these weapons that the left fear. Take away the weapons of your enemy is a sound tactic. Too bad (for them) it just ain’t gonna happen.

In theory....these days...any such law at the federal level would be UNpossible (see Bruen...other state laws getting struck down or nearly, almost...soon to be.... struck down)

That being said...

.....Its a fund raising ploy....

Can anyone say, with certainty, that a federal government would never build fences, a wall, or camps to "quarantine" a town against there will where a chemical spill, viral outbreak, or "public safety emergency" occurs?  Did the Founders design something that would minimize the threat of citizens being contained or evicted by force?

Just surrender your guns. The government will keep the peace and protect your property. It's a bipartisan common sense issue.

You mean like the Japanese internment camps in WWII?

Charlton Heston made a good point years ago - "from my cold, dead fingers."

I agree and, while I realize that this is how I would end up, those "thieves" would have to ask themselves - "Is it worth the cost?"

There would be multiple injuries/dead among those "thieves" for one angry, stubborn owner.  So, "Is it worth the cost?"

That's one example. Ways of containing and controlling "dangerous" people fall on the same spectrum as concentration camps. Consider how our government and DOJ has weaponized agencies against the "MAGA" bogeyman and even parents at school board meetings. Now consider a town that becomes toxic or radioactive - would the feds find it easier to seal off that community?  It would be easy to accomplish where people are disarmed.

I would get it if it were some kind of communicable disease outbreak, but I don't get the analogy here.
