They Still Don't Get It

It's clear to everyone that their anti-gun schemes can't survive. Even those promoting Illinois' infringements have acknowledged that. For example, when challenged about the constitutionality of the Protect Illinois Communities Act (aka the “assault weapon” ban), Senate President Harmon said that the US Supreme Court can change in an instant. Implicit in that statement is the knowledge that the law he sponsored cannot survive. At the same time, it wasn't the first instance of an anti-gunner expressing a death wish toward those that oppose them. It is, however, one of the most blatant, right up there with Michael Pfleger's renowned desire to “snuff” gun store owners.

Yet, they continue to accuse others of violence unrealized. They continue to file bills like HB1280 FOID – Denial & Revocation – Stalking, proposing to prohibit gun ownership based on a misdemeanor, nonviolent act. They continue to point a finger of accusation at us, while every so often saying out loud their desires for their opponents' demise. They continue to look deep into their own dark hearts and, not liking what they see, project their warped sense of right and wrong on those that stand in the way of their desires.

Their never ending attack on our rights includes the same old misunderstandings. They think they can tax our rights in the form of HB1064 Use/Occ Tax – Firearms. They think they can limit our rights by requiring ammunition be sold only through an FFL as proposed in HB1057 Firearm Ammunition – Sales – FFL. In HB1062 Lost & Stolen Firearms – FOID Card, they think it's alright to make us a victim twice if one of our guns is stolen.

Still, some bills make sense. In keeping with NYSRPA v Bruen, Representative Windhorst filed HB1429 Conceal Carry – Public Transport proposing to recognize that public transportation is not quite so sensitive a place as our opposition believes it to be.

And, in trying to do now what the courts will ultimately accomplish if his HB1270 Firearm Owners ID Act – Repeal doesn't become law, Representative Cabello hopes to rid us of the ultimate infringement – asking permission of those that view themselves as the ruling elite.

Join us as we take action on these bills by filing witness slips voicing your support for our rights and opposition to their hatred of those rights.
