No Longer takes me to my unread comments.

This just started today. Site no longer takes me to unread comments when I click on topics I have been reading forever. Nothing has changed on my end.

1. When you click on your name in the upper right, click Account Settings, then click Content View Behavior, which option is selected?
2. To read unread posts, do you click on the topic title or the icon to the left?

BTW, even if the selected content view option is other than "Take me to content I haven't read," that's the behavior of the icon.

The "Take me to content I haven't read," option is selected. To read unread posts, I just open the topic on the main page... or I used to anyway. :-)>

When this happened to me I found that I had opened the tab in “private” mode which doesn’t allow cookies. 
The cookies are needed to know where you left off.

Ever since the site was updated, this feature no longer works for me either.  I've just learned to live with it.

It isn't a sitewide issue.  It still works for me, at least.

 

If you're getting email notifications that you logged in from a new device, then it's possible your browser is set to clear cookies on exit.  If you change that to keep cookies from IllinoisCarry I think your new content problem will be solved, and you won't get those notices so often.
