pdl099 Posted February 5, 2023 at 01:43 PM Share Posted February 5, 2023 at 01:43 PM Just received a replacement FOID card from ISP the other day. FOID nor CCL were expired. The only change that I see is that they changed the ‘Indicator: CCL’ to ‘CCL: Yes’. The card that it’s replacing was issued less than a year ago. Wondering why they would bother re-printing and mailing these new cards for such a small change?
Tip Posted February 5, 2023 at 02:30 PM Share Posted February 5, 2023 at 02:30 PM Because they want you to destroy your perfectly good old cards so that you, too, can experience the pain and hassle of using a card without an expiration date on it. pdl099 Posted February 5, 2023 at 03:39 PM Author Share Posted February 5, 2023 at 03:39 PM I had an updated FOID/CCL card without the expiration date already. Seems like a good use of taxpayer dollars.

Molly B. Posted February 5, 2023 at 11:04 PM Share Posted February 5, 2023 at 11:04 PM Reissued most likely because ccl indicator in earlier combo cards was either missing or wrong.
Rmac702 Posted February 6, 2023 at 02:22 AM Share Posted February 6, 2023 at 02:22 AM The first combo cards just said Yes for the indicator, and the new cards (like mine from April 2022) only say CCL for the indicator, but he is saying the new reissued card says CCL and Yes for the indicator. This sounds like the third update.
pdl099 Posted February 6, 2023 at 02:28 AM Author Share Posted February 6, 2023 at 02:28 AM Yep, I received a new FOID card in December 2021, did not have my CCL endorsement at that time so it was a normal FOID with no CCL indicators and had an expiration date. After competing certification, I received a new card February or March 2022 with the 'Indicator: CCL' language near the top, no expiration date. This most recent card now reads 'CCL: Yes' where the indicator language was previously.

It’s for that reason that I am keeping my cards. I’ll follow the one that is listed on my ISP act. I haven’t checked yetis I don’t know if they used the new one I received Friday or not. This is actually the third FPOD I have received within the past year. All have different numbers. Of course the las tone has the CCL on it. But 3 in one year and all with different numbers? pdl099 Posted February 6, 2023 at 01:29 PM Author Share Posted February 6, 2023 at 01:29 PM Oh, you know what, the FOID card # remained the same but the AL number changed. I have no idea what the AL number is used for. I noticed that the online e-FOID card also has a different AL number as well?
