On February 12, the parties reported that they will not be able to complete discovery by February 26 (the previously scheduled deadline).

On February 13, Chicago asked for an order of protection (probably regarding confidential information during discovery).

On February 14, the judge issued the order.

On April 22, the judge denied in part the motion to stay. Expert discovery is to proceed. The court will revisit whether a stay is appropriate after expert discovery is complete.

On May 28, the judge set the following schedule for expert discovery:

2025
6/30: plaintiffs disclose opening expert reports
9/29: defendants disclose expert reports
11/12: plaintiffs disclose rebuttal expert reports
11/17: plaintiffs to propose updates to schedule (i.e., the 2/12/26 date and folowing) if there are no rebuttal experts

2026
2/12: expert depositions complete; parties to propose dispositive briefing schedule

On September 9, the state asked for an extension to complete discovery.

On September 10, the judge granted the request and set the following schedule:

2025
10/29: defendants disclose expert reports
12/15: plaintiffs disclose rebuttal expert reports
12/18: plaintiffs to propose updates to schedule (i.e., the 3/16/26 date and following) if there are no rebuttal experts

2026
03/16: expert depositions complete; parties to propose dispositive briefing schedule

On October 23, the court granted the extension. The schedule is now:

2026
01/09: defendants disclose expert reports
03/06: plaintiffs disclose rebuttal expert reports
03/09: plaintiffs to propose updates to schedule (i.e., the 3/16/26 date and following) if there are no rebuttal experts
05/01: expert depositions complete; parties to propose dispositive briefing schedule
