that rules out CCRKBA. Richard is on their board of directors. I know SAF is affiliated with CCRKBA, kind of leery of donating to them. I am a member of CCRKBA and will not be renewing my membership in January due to that fact. What is everyone else's opinion on SAF?

The mere presence of Richard Pearson on their board is not a good reason to dump CCRKBA/SAF.
I'm sure Alan will not let Richard tank them.

If you haven't already, Contact them and let them know you're opinion of Richard.

That is a great idea.  I will be contacting SAF and CCRKBA about my very clear thoughts on RP.  His “leadership” has made me pause any donations to the ISRA and will have me reconsider my ongoing approach with SAF and CCRKBA vs other orgs.  Illinoiscarry, the FPC, John Lott’s research, and others might benefit more.

I have been a strong proponent of the SAF and CCRKBA in the past and would hate to have to change.  Need to see if King Richard the Pontificator is having the same negative influence he has in IL with his non-strategic compromises and penchant to communicate more on thoughts unrelated to immediately advancing (or protecting) IL gun rights.

Second Amendment Foundation and IllinoisCarry.com

I get people want to look to SAF, and they have been more than helpful in Illinois, Except.....

Many of us want a different playbook and are assembling good local counsel, they actually know what a semi-auto is and how it works having worked in the indistry, and some of the same heavy hitters that are winning cases in front of St Benitez.

What method of communication did you use?

Thanks

BTW, the CCRKBA notes that Richard Pearson is on a 2 year board term with the possibility to extend.  They need to hear from the people of IL what we think of his “leadership” at a minimum.  Some nicely worded notes from this team might make sure that the good work and fundraising of the CCRKBA is not impacted with questionable board leadership.

Do you have good contact information to share?

What the heck were they thinking?

They must not have vetted him.

Is this another paid position?

He's always been about pocketing the money

Thanks

For me nowadays.

Illinois Carry

Illinois Rifle Association

Gun Owners Of America

Firearms Policy Coalition
Second Amendment Foundation

I stopped donating to the NRA because I don't see them really doing anything other than soliciting donations, and often are not on the same page as the majority of us which I don't find helpful.
