Round up your sticks and branches and get rid of them, they can be used as “assault weapons”.
And what is this obsession with .50 cal that they have?

They think every .50 is BMG, and what if terrorists get that or police use it for crowd control or something horrible.

And it's easy to conceal a Barrett, right?

Regurgitated nonsense from people who are ignorant following other people who are ignorant. that's a fancy way of saying they are trying to ban things that they do not understand.

Further, low-hanging fruit. They know most gun owners are fudds who won't fight to defend something that doesn't apply to them. In other words very few people have 50's so very few people will fight a ban on 50's. Thus they'll get to ban 50's.  We know that this fight for our firearm freedoms is a war of attrition. They'll keep pushing an inch here and an inch there and we let them under the guise of compromise (and laziness). And, then we look back and realize we've given up miles one inch at a time.

ALL gun laws are unconstitutional.

Senate Supplemental Calendar 1 is available.

Earlier, in the Senate Executive Committee, Senate Amendment 2  on HB1587 State Government Tech, was approved for consideration.   It was later adopted on the Senate Floor and the bill was passed over to the House.

The amendment makes changes to several boards, including the FOID Review Board and CCL Review Board.

In floor debate the sponsor described the changes as adding flexibility to the appointment process, which it will.

Senator Barickman expressed opposition because, first, the amendment undoes some of the bi-partisan work agreed to when the ISRA/Koehler/Hoffman HB562, FOID Modernization, was being schemed up behind the backs of Illinois gun owners.  Additionally, he opposes the amendment because it gives the Governor virtual carte blanche to appoint whomever he pleases.  Yet another shortsighted move by those who claim to support our rights.
