On April 1, Naperville filed a motion to stay this case pending a CA7 decision on Barnett v Raoul.

On April 7, the judge granted the motion to stay and set the following schedule:

07/28: joint status report due
07/31: status hearing

All other previously scheduled items are canceled.

On July 29, based on the status report, the judge ordered the case to remain stayed. The status meeting on July 31 is canceled. The schedule is set as follows:

12/15: joint status report due
12/17: status hearing

The state knows it has a losing case but as long as they can get extensions, why worry about it!

They will get more extensions as Christmas is 7 days later, and New Years Eve is 14 days later, they just won't have the time to prepare with all the holiday stuff going on.

They won't be able to get together until after Valentines day at the soonest as they have to have time to recover from the holiday backlogs.

Delays are almost as good as winning the cases, this is why we need a stay on all these unconstitutional laws until they have been ran through the whole courts system. Then the state would be in a hurry to get it done.

That’s because it’s OPM, Other Peoples Money. If their paychecks depended upon efficiency, like a regular business entity, that would matter, until then….”Good enough for government work.” (Look! the money fairy just keeps delivering)
