russ60477 Posted September 16, 2022 at 04:35 AM Share Posted September 16, 2022 at 04:35 AM Is it me or we don't have any positive person to give a vote , That will protect are 2nd Amendment rights. I know Pritzker already said he is after are gun rights, and I have not heard Bailey give any positive views. What are your thoughts ?
spanishjames Posted September 16, 2022 at 06:23 AM Share Posted September 16, 2022 at 06:23 AM Illinois is California's little sister when it comes to gun rights. Be thankful for what you've got, because it's not getting better anytime soon.

bmyers Posted September 16, 2022 at 11:41 AM Share Posted September 16, 2022 at 11:41 AM Everything I have researched on Bailey shows he is much stronger 2A candidate than Jabba the Hut has ever been.
Lou Posted September 16, 2022 at 12:00 PM Share Posted September 16, 2022 at 12:00 PM If your 2A rights are important to you, the only answer is Bailey. This isn’t even a one-issue problem. Pritzker is wrong on many other issues too.

Ranger Posted September 16, 2022 at 01:59 PM Share Posted September 16, 2022 at 01:59 PM There is absolutely no comparison between Bailey and Pritzker on the 2nd amendment. Pritzker is vehemently anti-gun. Bailey is vehemently pro-gun. Bailey wins that gun rights contest hands down.

mauserme Posted September 17, 2022 at 12:10 PM Share Posted September 17, 2022 at 12:10 PM Whether true or not, it lets the Republican Party know what is expected of them.
richp Posted September 17, 2022 at 12:44 PM Share Posted September 17, 2022 at 12:44 PM Mauser, I agree with you. However, in this case Pritzker is so bad that I thought we actually had a chance of tossing him out if we had fielded a more electable candidate. And that would have been beneficial, even though we have a problematic example in Rauner. He was far from ideal, but he could have advanced some things that I think we all would agree would have been positive, had it not been for Madigan's iron grip on the General Assembly. No Democrat, particularly Pritzker, is going to do anything like that. I often find myself voting for an unelectable candidate with the thought in mind that the more votes that person can get, the stronger their profile might be for the next election cycle. However in this case I don't think Bailey has any future to try to strengthen him for. I'll vote for him, because I think generally supporting the Republican party - as imperfect as it is - is better than doing anything that resembles supporting the Democrats. SiliconSorcerer Posted September 17, 2022 at 01:16 PM Share Posted September 17, 2022 at 01:16 PM It just sad the people are just so ... stupid to think who they elect for ... governor makes any ... difference on abortion when the house and senate have democrat supermajorites. Unfortinarely makes no ... difference on a whole lot of things. Every ... commercial is about abortion which is completely irreverent to the ... issues. I see he put another 15 million in the the people who play by the rules PAC. If like to see some more factual commercials. No he didn't balance the budget - that's a big fat lie. Etc etc etc I see no way to donate to that PAC if there is point me at it.
mab22 Posted September 17, 2022 at 01:56 PM Share Posted September 17, 2022 at 01:56 PM It’s plain and simple, if you don’t vote Pritzker wins, if you do vote and take 10 friends, neighbors, colleges, with you there is a chance we get Bailey. AND QUIT GETTING DISCOURAGED BY THIS POLE AND THAT POLE AND THIS GUY CANT WIN AND WAAAA WAAAA WAAA. JUST VOTE ALREADY! FFS!
richp Posted September 17, 2022 at 04:16 PM Share Posted September 17, 2022 at 04:16 PM (edited) Sorcerer touches on something that's interesting and important. Here in the northern corner of the state Democrats are focusing on the abortion issue; Republican ads are focusing on crime. Of the two, I think crime is probably the more powerful issue, and hopefully will overcome some of the dramatic negativity injected into the campaign by the anti-Bailey ads.
