I never wish anything bad for anyone but she's had so much ill will for gun owners, this is a great thing.

As a side benefit soon, I'll never have to listen to her drone on endlessly with that preachy voice that's so grating on my nerves.

Fret not for the bag lady.  She will get hired by the moms, or some other lefty, anti-American group.  I doubt we've heard the last from her.

I bet you thought I was joking.

Since ISRA made a deal not to oppose "modernization," perhaps part of that deal was scratching the backs of some of its proponents. Perhaps Richard Pearson is setting us up to accept Kathleen Willis as the next executive director after he retires.

Okay, I was joking, but maybe I'm not anymore.

... I seen ... no Hernandez signs.

The only info I can find online is basically "I'm Latina. Vote for me." Maybe her campaign was essentially knocking on doors and speaking at churches. She certainly wasn't supported by The Machine. Maybe it means she won't be beholden to it, either.

Ultimately Willis got voted out by people who thought Hernandez would represent them better.

I would personally not celebrate much, all we are seeing is the Democrats aligning loyalty around Pritzker now that Madigan is gone, IMO there is little doubt in my mind that Pritzker wants the White House and he is building the loyalist foundations.

The MSM have mercilessly "fat shamed" Trump for 5 years.  Golly, do you ever recall them fat shaming the guy whose suit jacket could fit two Trumps and a Brandon it it???

OH, she's aligned with the machine all right, she's a progressive.

Through U.S. Rep. Jesús "Chuy" García, IL-4:

Quote
Progressives across Illinois, throughout the collar counties, the Western Suburbs, and the entire Chicagoland area won and we won big. And the message it sends is clear: when we organize and build coalitions on values rooted in community and inclusivity, voters – regardless of race, nation of origin, gender, color, or creed, respond. And with that, a mandate to govern with an agenda that puts working families first. Our entire slate persevered and successfully swept their contests once again.
I am deeply heartened by the significant strides made by Women and the Latino community at-large by last night’s sweeping victories. Illinois sends the first-ever Latina from the Midwest to the Halls of Congress, Delia Ramirez, and we elected the first-ever Latina to represent the 77th District in the Illinois House of Representatives, Norma Hernandez. At a time when women’s rights are under unprecedented assault and immigrants continue to be relegated to the shadows, these wins are a glimmer of hope for the country that we can and will, fight back.

When she was 14-years old, Norma began to work. She started working cleaning offices and then put herself through college while working full-time at Walgreens in Melrose Park for 12-years. For the past 15-years, she has helped her parents sell plants and other items at Swap-O-Rama flea market on the weekends.

Norma used her education to first work in the foster care system and then as an urban planner at the Great Cities Institute at UIC. She has helped lead groundbreaking research on participatory budgeting and helping local governments to implements measures involving the public in important decisions.

Last year, Norma ran on an anti-corruption platform and became the first Latina ever elected to serve as a Trustee at Triton Community College. During her term, she has promoted transparency and an equitable administration of Triton's $76 million budget.

Yep, that's how they disenfranchise White, suburban voters who have shown a proclivity towards voting Republican in the past.  They did it to both my house and senate districts, where a long, narrow corridor leads from a few SW suburban towns all the way to "the community" around 79th and Stoney Freaking Island!!

Rhetorical question: Is Chuy saying Willis didn't "fight" as a woman?

Masters in urban planning, obviously couldn’t get a real job so had to take on the ankle biter to get paid!

Just replace progressive with socialist. Is there a Republican, even if it’s a rino running against her?

Yea, but how does Norma feel about self-defense?  2A?

And good riddance to Willis.  Did anyone see any of her commercials?  I think she did it to herself.

Norma's website statement is carefully calibrated on the issue:

Quote

Public Safety

The rise in crime has gotten to an unimaginable point. We need direct policies to intervene and keep communities safe. We need innovative solutions to guarantee public safety, including well funded violence prevention initiatives need to tackle the root causes of crime. Our elected officials should promote policies that build trusting and respectful relationships with law enforcement, and make sure they have the resources they need to safely and effectively fulfill their duties. People should be able to enjoy their neighborhoods, and kids should be able to get to school without fear of violenc

Regardless of her intentional careful wording on public safety, every other 'issue' on her website points to her being a Democrat liberal agenda anchor tower, I suspect her views on the 2nd are fully aligned with the liberal Democrats even is she is being careful with her words.

I think Hernandez is more likely to do whatever Chuy tells her to do than whatever the national (or even state) Democratic platform is, at least until Chuy becomes the new Madigan and starts telling everybody what to do.

Well he is rabid anti-2nd so I guess we are in agreement on her likely 2nd views.

Just look at the political pictures on the websites, "Northwest Progressives united", I have to research those photos and see how many ran for office and how many won.

Chuy said: "Our entire slate persevered and successfully swept their contests once again. "

I will unravel that slate:

U.S. House district 3: Delia Ramirez  (IL house dist 4)

Illinois House:

in the 21st district, Abdelnasser Rashid beat Michael Zalewski

in the 77th district Norma Hernandez beat Kathleen Willis

as I confirm them, they will be edited into the above list.

May be an image of 5 people, people standing and outdoors

And they're all leftists.  Zalewski got redistricted to where the election would be won in Berwyn in one MAJOR gerrymander.  Now the southwest portion of the district is stuck with a 32 year old marxist as its "representative."  These maps are abominations meant to keep leftist Democrats in power in Illinois in perpetuity.  I need to find a way out of this state
