ChicagoBurbs Posted February 21, 2022 at 10:53 PM Share Posted February 21, 2022 at 10:53 PM I know this is late notice but I didn't even think to post this on here and I have a couple of spots left. I am bringing in J5 Rescue for a TECC-LEO class this Sunday the 27th in Naperville. It is intended for law enforcement officers and other โnon-medical respondersโ. It teaches you how to approach traumatic injuries (car accidents, machinery accidents, sports, etc.) or violent trauma (ballistic injuries, battery, explosives, etc) in a potentially hostile environment. This class is perfect for a concealed carry holder and a great certification if you are an instructor or RSO. ย This IS NOT a basic first aid or โStop the Bleedโ class and you do not need to be in law enforcement to attend. ย Upon completion, you will be NAEMT TECC-LEO certified. if you are looking to advance your skills this is an opportunity to take a class not usually available in our area. Although I was a medic, protocols and available equipment have come a long way. ย Class topics will include: -Lifts, drags, and carries -Severe bleeding control -Airway control, including chest seals -Tourniquet application/ Pressure dressings / Wound packing -Scenario-Based Simulations ย Similar courses have been offered in other parts of the country, but most I have found are not open to civilians. I talked him into a discount on this one to gauge interest, so the cost will only be $170 and limited to 12 people. (Average $250 nationally and typically 20 people / class) The course you occasionally see is TECC which is a 2-day course and that is almost never held around here. ย If you are interested, send me an email and I will get you more details.
