Euler Posted January 20, 2022 at 03:25 AM Share Posted January 20, 2022 at 03:25 AM It's not comprehensive (Clenzoil, Break Free CLP, Slip 2000, Frog Lube, Hoppe’s, Extreme Force, Hoppe’s 9 Kit, Ballistol, and Fluid Film), but it's pretty good. papa Posted January 20, 2022 at 03:58 PM Share Posted January 20, 2022 at 03:58 PM Thanks for posting this test. I think I will just stay with my Break Free CLP and Tetra gun grease.
Lou Posted January 20, 2022 at 05:01 PM Share Posted January 20, 2022 at 05:01 PM I've been using Break Free for years. I guess I'll just stick with it for years.
bmyers Posted January 20, 2022 at 05:28 PM Share Posted January 20, 2022 at 05:28 PM I have been using FrogLube and it has worked well. Glad to see it performed well.
Stats Posted January 20, 2022 at 06:37 PM Share Posted January 20, 2022 at 06:37 PM An informative video. Despite the pronunciation in the video, Project Farm may cause me to reconsider my use of Hoppe's. I was taught to use it by not only my father, but my grandfather too. MagSlap Posted January 21, 2022 at 03:22 AM Share Posted January 21, 2022 at 03:22 AM I have yet to watch the vid...but its always been Hoppes for me...
MagSlap Posted January 21, 2022 at 08:10 PM Share Posted January 21, 2022 at 08:10 PM So I checked out the vid last night... Yikes..you'd think some of these products were straight up water.... As I mentioned, I use hoppe's... But I've never used their 'CLP'... (I never believed in any 'all it one' product for pretty much anything much less a gun product...) Looks like the bore cleaner is gtg. The oil? Performs less than others I suppose. I've been using Hoppe's oil for 20+ years. Never had a reason to switch... Yet... Gives me a reason to 'make it point' to pick up some Mobil 1 synth oil. There is quite a bit of positive feedback 'out in the wild' about it... Have always wanted to give it a try... Plus... a bottle or two would last a lifetime...
skrapyard Posted January 21, 2022 at 08:50 PM Share Posted January 21, 2022 at 08:50 PM Ive kept it cheap and simple for years and none of my guns have rusted or worn out because of my cleaning and lubing processes. Hoppes no9 bore solvent, Eds Red (for really dirty stuff), synthetic motor oil, and wheel bearing grease. Ive also been known to hose out the innards of all metal guns with brake cleaner. If its good enough for my car its good enough for my guns! With a quart of eds red, a quart of synthetic motor oil, a tub of grease, and a quart of hoppes I believe I am set on supplies for the next 50 years. billzfx4 Posted January 21, 2022 at 09:59 PM Share Posted January 21, 2022 at 09:59 PM I've used Hoppes since I've owned guns. If I ever turn some of them into full auto's and shoot thousands upon thousands of rounds in one range trip, then metal wear may become an issue.
