Smallbore Posted June 2, 2021 at 02:27 PM Share Posted June 2, 2021 at 02:27 PM I was just doing a Google search and looked at the Illinois Sate Police web site for current list of states resident who can apply. Couldn't find it. Any help appreciated. Thanks
spec5 Posted June 2, 2021 at 02:39 PM Share Posted June 2, 2021 at 02:39 PM The Illinois State Police sent a survey to each state to determine which states have laws that are substantially similar. Currently, the only states considered to be substantially similar are Arkansas, Idaho, Mississippi, Nevada, Texas and Virginia. It is under CCL FAQ

Plinkermostly Posted June 2, 2021 at 03:20 PM Share Posted June 2, 2021 at 03:20 PM Have they actually issued any? Deja vu -- seems like this came up a (long) while ago -- and the numbers (I think) were about what you would expect for Hawaii or NY or NJ . . . . InterestedBystander Posted June 2, 2021 at 03:29 PM Share Posted June 2, 2021 at 03:29 PM Yes they have, but unsure recent numbers. We used to have a member that would FOIA the data and post it here but have not seen in a long time.

oohrah Posted June 2, 2021 at 07:41 PM Share Posted June 2, 2021 at 07:41 PM Have they actually issued any? . .I have one. Last I heard here in Texas, it was less than 20. I also heard one of the two instructors in the state moved away, and the other isn't teaching (not sure just rumor). When you consider the expense and the hassle to get an IL CCL, you really need a good reason to get one. It's not any good anywhere else. I got mine because I had relatives that I visited quite often. They have since moved out of IL, so I won't be renewing.
