illinois_buckeye Posted January 13, 2022 at 10:19 PM Posted January 13, 2022 at 10:19 PM Update on mine today, first time application. I originally applied 9/21 last year. My status went to Under Review, but now says my submission successfully completed the background review and has been sent to await printing. So hopefully sometime in the next 30 days.
Little Duck Posted January 14, 2022 at 02:13 PM Posted January 14, 2022 at 02:13 PM I am at 173 days on CCL renewal. I know card is still good, BLA BLA BLA. It still isnt right that it is taking so long to get this done. The proccess is flawed. I hope people can see this and help fix this in the next election.
illinois_buckeye Posted January 17, 2022 at 11:32 AM Posted January 17, 2022 at 11:32 AM I haven’t been waiting that long for my first time application. Mom and dad live in Ohio and said it took them about a week to get their permit. They just had to be fingerprinted and pick it up from the sheriff.
davel501 Posted January 18, 2022 at 04:54 PM Posted January 18, 2022 at 04:54 PM The crown has looked favorably upon my request to exercise my God given rights. My FOID with CCL endorsement arrived in 117 days. I was upset because I renewed my FOID too until I read the threads about the cards no longer having expiration dates. I purchase a lot of ammo online so having that extra 10 years worked out well. I applied for the FOID on 9/20 and it was issued on 9/27, had it in hand about a week later.

So you applied for a CCL in September of 2021 then? Did you send prints?

illinois_buckeye Posted January 19, 2022 at 01:05 PM Posted January 19, 2022 at 01:05 PM Update on my first time app. I’d applied on September 21. Checked this morning and now I show that it was printed on January 18. Just waiting on the mailman now I guess. Didn’t submit prints.
Konyo312 Posted January 20, 2022 at 07:01 PM Posted January 20, 2022 at 07:01 PM Yesterday was the one year anniversary for my CCL renewal application. Still waiting. How is it that SC can approve my non-resident CWP in 2 weeks with $0 fee? Someone had pointed out that IL CCL is now valid in SC, but I do feel better having a valid SC CWP while I’m there.
solareclipse2 Posted January 20, 2022 at 07:10 PM Posted January 20, 2022 at 07:10 PM On 1/20/2022 at 1:01 PM, Konyo312 said: How is it that SC can approve my non-resident CWP in 2 weeks with $0 fee? Short Answer: Because they want to. Long answer: Because they want to and they don't feel the need to ring every last cent out of their residents while simultaneously screwing them over.

Here is how the average days processing has been tracking for NEW CCL applications. Things look to be getting a little bit better. For whatever reason, the ISP does not divulge information on CCL renewals.
russ60477 Posted January 21, 2022 at 04:48 PM Posted January 21, 2022 at 04:48 PM applied for new ccl on nov 7 , status just changed from nothing to now in que for background check , this is with prints . fingers crossed it goes quick
illinois_buckeye Posted January 21, 2022 at 07:50 PM Posted January 21, 2022 at 07:50 PM Seems like it took 2-3 weeks for mine to go through that stage.
notatreehugger Posted January 24, 2022 at 07:55 PM Posted January 24, 2022 at 07:55 PM Applied for a renewal on 4/16/21 without prints and the website states that none of app has been reviewed.
Rmac702 Posted January 24, 2022 at 10:26 PM Posted January 24, 2022 at 10:26 PM On 1/24/2022 at 1:55 PM, notatreehugger said: Applied for a renewal on 4/16/21 without prints and the website states that none of app has been reviewed. Mine says the same thing, but I applied for CCL renewal in mid February 2021. I guess my renewal is digital bathroom wallpaper for now.
russ60477 Posted January 25, 2022 at 02:43 AM Posted January 25, 2022 at 02:43 AM Updatd today from background check has been completed and sent to print
ScottFM Posted January 27, 2022 at 02:41 AM Posted January 27, 2022 at 02:41 AM 9 November 2021 I submitted my CCL renewal 6 January 2022 the status was changed to Under Review with this detail: We have completed our initial review of your submission and have determined that all necessary items are present. Your application has been moved to the background review queue. 26 January 2022 the status is still Under Review but with the following detail: Your submission successfully completed the background review and has been sent to await printing.

I applied Oct 15, no prints, and got the same message "We have completed our initial review of your submission and have determined that all necessary items are present. Your application has been moved to the background review queue." I'm also hopeful this goes quickly. I'm also going to take this as a lesson not to let my license expire in the first place but that's another story.
solareclipse2 Posted January 27, 2022 at 05:07 PM Posted January 27, 2022 at 05:07 PM Actually fun story, I logged back in to the website and now the status is still under review but with the note "Your submission successfully completed the background review and has been sent to await printing." So that's actually pretty cool so now it's just a question of how long it takes to get from this stage to the printer and then to my house.
illinois_buckeye Posted January 27, 2022 at 06:52 PM Posted January 27, 2022 at 06:52 PM Mine was printed they said on the 18th and I've not gotten my card yet. Should be any day, but seemed when I got my foid in 2020 it took a couple of weeks.
mkhalil61 Posted January 27, 2022 at 10:56 PM Posted January 27, 2022 at 10:56 PM Are they still printing CCL as a separate card or have they started sending the combined cards?

Probably me. Just double checked and no spot for an expiration date anywhere on it.
solareclipse2 Posted January 31, 2022 at 10:25 PM Posted January 31, 2022 at 10:25 PM And now my card was printed today so for those keeping score at home... Submitted without prints: 10/15/2021 Under Review: 01/27/2022- 10:16 AM Card Sent for printing: 01/27/2022- 11:07 AM Card Printed: 01/31/2022 That's 108 days from submission to printing. Now it's up to the post office to get it to me. If it gets here in 12 days that would be 120 days exactly from submission to delivery.

illinois_buckeye Posted February 1, 2022 at 04:18 PM Posted February 1, 2022 at 04:18 PM Don’t count on that 12 days. Supposedly my card was printed on the 18th. As of yesterday I still have not received it in the mail.

Sending a piece of mail from one city to another, in the same state should take more than two or three days so if it was printed and actually mailed then maybe it's lost or stolen. That's unfortunate.

That's unfortunate. It took 2-3 weeks for my wife and I to get ours. I used to work in commercial print for a company that printed the bills for companies like Verizon. Once the USPS trailer left our dock the item was in the mail and tracking in the USPS system...even if the trailer just got parked out in the corner of the lot while the USPS tried to find a truck to grab it. I wonder if something like that is going on here where the cards are considered "in the mail" by the ISP once they hit the bins that are going to the USPS.
illinois_buckeye Posted February 1, 2022 at 06:03 PM Posted February 1, 2022 at 06:03 PM I would agree with 2-3 days but it seemed to take 2-3 weeks when I got my foid.
Rmac702 Posted February 1, 2022 at 09:26 PM Posted February 1, 2022 at 09:26 PM This month is one year so far for my CCL renewal without prints. I just checked the ISP portal. This is what it says: We have received your submission and your payment was successful. We have not yet reviewed any aspect of your application. It is in the verification queue. It's been 12 months, and nothing has been done.
solareclipse2 Posted February 2, 2022 at 07:41 PM Posted February 2, 2022 at 07:41 PM Something else interesting until this morning my FOID and CCL expirations were COVID-19. Now they show 1/31/2032 for my FOID and 01/31/2027 for my CCL. My FOID was supposed to expire 02/01/2023 so it looks like they took the liberty of automatically renewing my FOID for me.
