Frank1 Posted September 4, 2020 at 08:52 PM Posted September 4, 2020 at 08:52 PM So I'm still waiting patiently, its been 35 days since I submitted my application. I tried the inspect element and if I'm reading it correctly it says "submitted" as my status. So I came across an article about this and it said there's a 148% increase in applications since last year, State police received 25,359 6/19 and 62,823 6/20 and the state police are saying its averaging 70 days. It said there's 42 different checks they go through to issue a card or deny.

InterestedBystander Posted September 4, 2020 at 09:06 PM Posted September 4, 2020 at 09:06 PM (edited) Application for....FOID?....CCL? I assume FOID since we discussed the record setting application volumes back when the story was published. The ISP has 60 30 (whoops) calendar days to processs new applications by statute. There are multiple state databases that get checked as well as Federal ones and potentially manual investigation. It may be pinned, but at one point I think the procedure manual was posted to the board. Edited September 4, 2020 at 10:44 PM by InterestedBystander

Mr. Fife Posted September 4, 2020 at 09:35 PM Posted September 4, 2020 at 09:35 PM Let's start a new thread at 40.
illinois_buckeye Posted September 4, 2020 at 09:59 PM Posted September 4, 2020 at 09:59 PM I got lucky and got mine quickly, but I've heard of people waiting months. They open at 8:30 am. Call at about 8:27 or 8:28am. By the time you get to go in the call queue it will be 8:30. I did this method and talked to someone within a minute or so. Call later than that, good luck. I once waited on hold so long they closed and disconnected me after almost an hour. I think many have experienced longer waits than that.

soundguy Posted September 5, 2020 at 01:43 PM Posted September 5, 2020 at 01:43 PM My buddy just received his first time FOID a few weeks ago. It took 5 months.
InterestedBystander Posted September 5, 2020 at 05:04 PM Posted September 5, 2020 at 05:04 PM 124 days since I lost mine...............still Under Review. My understanding is a lost card is pretty much a reprocessing as new application. 90/120 days by statute, 140+ days if you are lucky but dont be surprised by a much longer wait.
