Euler Posted June 21, 2020 at 04:54 AM Share Posted June 21, 2020 at 04:54 AM The web site says it's biodegradable. That means it's vegetable oil, like Fireclean and Froglube.
RandyP Posted June 21, 2020 at 09:22 AM Share Posted June 21, 2020 at 09:22 AM I'd join in the conversation about all these lubricants..... but it's a slippery slope.

DD123 Posted July 13, 2020 at 09:19 PM Share Posted July 13, 2020 at 09:19 PM I've never tried that, but I've tried so many different oils for guns that they all do what they're supposed to provided you actually maintain your firearms. It never fails to amaze me when some blockhead brags about how he's shot 5K rounds and hasn't cleaned his guns. That's like bragging about not changing the oil in your car for 50K miles. It's stupid and seems to have turned into a weird sort of wiener measuring contest. You don't clean your guns for thousands of rounds, congrats, with that and a quarter you can buy a gumball lol. Anyhow... I started off using regular old CLP. Worked fine for a long time. Then I switched to RemOil. That is literally the worst lubricant you can use. It's thin garbage that burns off, and even seems to evaporate. I'd heavily lube a gun that would sit in my safe for a couple years and when I'd take it out to the range I noticed that most of the RemOil was gone. Like it completely disappeared. I'd detail strip the gun, and it seemed like the oil vanished. I bought Mpro7 which seemed very similar to CLP, and that worked fine. Then I was recommended Lucas Xtreme Duty oil. I've used that for the last 6-7 years. I've run my guns hard, and use this in all of the guns I use in USPSA and 3 gun. The only thing about this lube is it's a little thicker in viscosity than CLP, so if it gets cold out and you have an inertia driven gun, like a Benelli M2, it will short stroke because it tends to gel in colder weather. In rifles and pistols it doesn't matter, but in a shotgun with a similar system as an M2, it caused issues. My solution was to use a thinner Lucas oil for my shotgun. I still used it in everything else because the cold weather thickening didn't make a difference in function. Recently I started using a local company that manufacturers their own CLP and the military uses it. The company is Radcolube. They're out in the western burbs. I've tested it so far in 6-7 matches and it has run perfectly. I use it in pistols, my AR, and my M2 and they've all run great. It's a bit thinner, but it keeps everything you put it on nice and slick. My best advice is if you're one of those people who literally never maintains their guns, then try out the Lucas Xtreme Duty gun oil. It works very well for that. I'd also recommend the Lucas Xtreme Duty for your carry gun. Like I mentioned above, it's a bit thicker and where you put it, it stays. That's perfect for a carry gun because you don't want the oil running away from where you applied it. Especially when you're not overdoing the lube on your carry gun to avoid attracting dirt and crud. For your range toys that you use frequently, I'd recommend that Radcolube. It's inexpensive, and it works well. I bought a 16 ounce spray bottle of it, but I just refill a little needle tip oiler for more precise application. You can get both on Amazon. I like to keep things simple, but sometimes keeping it simple in firearm lubrication means having a different lube for the specific piece of equipment it's going on. With all that being said: TLDR: It doesn't really matter which oil you use, buy what you like and use it. If you want semi scientific, read what I wrote above. papa Posted July 13, 2020 at 11:06 PM Author Share Posted July 13, 2020 at 11:06 PM I switched to breakfree CLP many years ago and still use it. It does what I need it to do and I haven't found a reason to change to something else. Between that and Tetra gun grease I am doing fine. My main reason for posting this thread was to see if anyone else had used it or even heard about it. So far I haven't heard anything about it that makes me want to think it is any better than a lot of other brands out there on the market.
