st0mper Posted March 10, 2021 at 04:17 AM Posted March 10, 2021 at 04:17 AM Applied June 27th 2020 for new Foid and CCL (same time) Still under review- going on 225 days now!I've reached out to Representative Ann Williams AND Senator Sara Feigenholtz's offices a few times and got a couple of "send me your info and I will reach out to our contact at the ISP" with absolutely no results. I saw a few people on the reddit ILGuns suggest filing a complaint with the DoJ for a civil rights violation...got crickets with that as well! Super frustrating... Active yet?Still under review!

Must be something about that week in June for applicants; my wife applied June 23 and is still under review with a FOID number listed. No help from state rep or senator either beyond "we know it's happening and we're sorry".

The month of June was one of the months when the huge surge of FOID apps occured, in fact June was the worst month with the highest volume of apps. Being at the end of the month especially makes it worst. They'll probably get through June by late March or sometime in April, and hopefully then wait times will start to decrease.

I have begun to suspect there is not a great deal of methodology in the approach ISP has in which FOID they process. I am out 248 days on a replacement for a lost card. My brother in law is out 400 plus days on a simple renewal, and others have posted faster renewal times. I still don't believe the average is the 122 days the ISP claims.

FordV8 Posted March 11, 2021 at 01:49 PM Posted March 11, 2021 at 01:49 PM Applied 7/18/20 for new FOID. Changed address on application on 3/9/21 and applied for CCL w/ prints. Called ISP yesterday. I was told that my place in line hasn't changed, but who knows if that's true. This is the 3rd time I've talked to ISP about my application with no movement. I'm expecting to wait another 200 days at this point.

I just saw a Reddit post of someone who applied for new a FOID on February 26th and got it in 2 weeks, on March 11th. The real average would be about 9 months for a new FOID. Renewals are much worse, I've seen plenty of people posting over a year wait.
Bubbacs Posted March 12, 2021 at 04:07 AM Posted March 12, 2021 at 04:07 AM Applied 7/18/20 for new FOID.Changed address on application on 3/9/21 and applied for CCL w/ prints. Called ISP yesterday. I'm expecting to wait another 200 days at this point.Making a change of address before getting g the card in hand will more then likely start from scratch.Applying for CCL while doing so will again slow the process. At best your clock on ether card will start on 3/9/21. Which means you are just starting the long wait. You are on day 3 of the process. Good Luck and Welcome to the Forums
pythagorean0202 Posted March 12, 2021 at 03:02 PM Posted March 12, 2021 at 03:02 PM Same story as everyone else. I applied for a FOID in June 2020. Never heard anything back at all from the ISP. I have reached out to everyone imaginable. Basically anyone at the State level who has an email address. Nothing. Disgusting really.
lilguy Posted March 13, 2021 at 02:25 AM Posted March 13, 2021 at 02:25 AM My son is into his second year under review/renewal.
Jeepin Bowhunter Posted March 13, 2021 at 03:31 PM Posted March 13, 2021 at 03:31 PM My son is into his second year under review/renewal. Good grief. You're not building my confidence on getting a replacement for my lost card any time soon. I've only been waiting 8 months.
snowcat Posted March 15, 2021 at 02:24 PM Posted March 15, 2021 at 02:24 PM Anyone have any idea what happens if my FOID expires wile I'm waiting for Address change? My FOID expires in July and I'm still pending a Address change from Back in October of last year so the Renew button doesn't appear for me. Also I probably reset the timer because I had to correct the ZIP code (Face Palm)...

Not sure just saying. P.S. Yes the clock more than likely started over, again check the portal and see what it says!

Now I will take blame for putting wrong / old ZIP code in but, the fact that it appears there is no automated Address QC / verification before you submit is mind boggling, considering they have accesses to verify against Secretary of State Office Data, or the fact there is a lot of off the shelf solutions they could licenses todo this.

Also I probably reset the timer because I had to correct the ZIP code (Face Palm)...Your FOID isnt expiring in spite of expiration date on card, although with some LGS policies they may not sell to you. FOID renewal button should go active at 90 days so you are too early anyway. My FOID card expired last week and I just sent in my renewal. How do these rules affect me? If your FOID expiration date was after March 9, 2020, your FOID card will remain valid throughout the duration of the state's disaster proclamation and for a period of 18 months (previously 12 months) following the termination of the disaster even if a renewal application is/was not submitted prior to expiration
Jeepin Bowhunter Posted March 15, 2021 at 10:36 PM Posted March 15, 2021 at 10:36 PM Well the stars aligned sometime between noon and 5:24PM today. I lost my wallet in early July 2020 and applied for a replacement FOID card July 6, 2020. Now 252 days later I have gone active! I had begun to believe it would drag out forever. It seems weird that the expiration shows COVID-19. When I actually have it in my hand, I'll let you know what it shows on the actual card. Molly sent an inquiry back in mid January and my State Senators office inquired in late February. Molly thank you for your help! StatusActiveIssued3/15/2021ExpirationCOVID-19

swvadude Posted March 29, 2021 at 03:25 AM Posted March 29, 2021 at 03:25 AM First time poster and 70 days since I applied. I talked to a lady on the ISP customer service number. The QC is complete and is OK. Now waiting for the background check. She said it can take 8 months.
