Retiredguns Posted October 27, 2019 at 06:24 PM Share Posted October 27, 2019 at 06:24 PM Does it ever end? The never-ending search for the perfect deep concealment micro wonder. Well, my search landed me a new Hellcat. It is about my 8th sub compact. All of the pistols have been rock solid, but who doesn't like to try a new pistol! I (thought) the 365 was going to be "it", but the SIG grip angle is just wrong for me. Had a chance to put 245rds of various ammo through the HC yesterday and I believe Springfield did their homework in every way. Carrying 12-14rds in such a small platform is awesome. The pistol is a runner and did not hiccup or show any weakness in any way. Similar to my 43 in many ways with twice the capacity. Night sights, standard rail, simplistic mechanics, great grip texture, great magazine release and mags. Flat trigger is very nice too. Yeah, I'm diggin' it. http://www.tacomaguitarforum.com/tgf/hca.JPG http://www.tacomaguitarforum.com/tgf/hcc.JPG http://www.tacomaguitarforum.com/tgf/hcp.JPG

Friends who have, said it felt “snappy “. Any thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk A sub 18oz 9mm is going to be a bit snappy I reckon. With 115gr ammo, it was mild. With my favorite carry ammo, 124gr HST, it was a little snappier. NOTHING at all uncomfortable. It's awesome that you can carry a half box of ammo with 11+1 and a spare mag of 13. Patriots & Tyrants Posted October 28, 2019 at 04:42 PM Share Posted October 28, 2019 at 04:42 PM How is the pull compared to the Glock 43 or a Gen 5 glock?
RandyP Posted October 28, 2019 at 05:39 PM Share Posted October 28, 2019 at 05:39 PM Good to see others following the lead of Sig (P365) and Taurus (PT111 G2) with double-stacked high capacity SMALL 9mm's. Retiredguns Posted October 28, 2019 at 05:48 PM Author Share Posted October 28, 2019 at 05:48 PM How is the pull compared to the Glock 43 or a Gen 5 glock? The trigger is nice as far as striker triggers go. The flat face and easy safety blade makes it bit more comfy than my 43. I really like the definite wall, clean break and nice tactile click on both firing and reset.

Might be a decent option but many reviews are less than stellar. 9lb DAO trigger turns a lot of folks off, but Kahr and revolver shooters wouldn’t mind. papa Posted October 29, 2019 at 01:15 AM Share Posted October 29, 2019 at 01:15 AM I have held the P365 and dry fired the trigger . I will say it was miles ahead of the P11 , which I have also held and dry fired. If the heck Cat is as good or better than the P365 then the heck Cat is on my list to buy when funds are available. I was not trying to belittle your heck Cat . I was just showing that a small , double stack 9mm has been available for many years. Many people miss that fact. I hope to hear more about your heck Cat performance in the future.

I don't like the way Sig rolls out stuff a little early (and with issues on occasion), but to be honest, with the fickle attitudes of many gun owners, you can't wait 6 months or a year extra, because everyone will be on to the next fad. The P365 has a fantastic out-of-the-box trigger, and I group far tighter with it than I do with any Glock. Better grip angle than Glock, better trigger, and my experiences with Sig customer service have been fantastic. It's small with not much room to grip, so if you have really big hands, it might not be the gun for you. If it had a DA/SA mode, it would be my ideal carry gun.

Its nothing a Pearce extentension can't fix.http://www.pearcegrip.com/Products/GLOCK/PG-26https://dkfirearms.com/product/pearce-grip-pg-26/ I specifically use the PG-26. (Not the GPXL versions or others that offer additional rounds or anything like that.)It simply extends for the pinky finger and keeps things nice and flush at the back of the mag. Still maintains that G26 concealability at the rear of the grip. Honestly? I feel there is no 'real sacrifice' when concealing with this extension.Trust me...if you ever fired a 26 with this simple add-on...you will get religion. It makes the the 26 a pleasure..rather than a challenge to shoot. ETA:Ignoring the 'body shots'...(Slow fire 'upper body triangle) All the heads shots were made with a 26 (with the pearce PG26)....All shots were RAPID FIRE/MAG DUMPS AND DOUBLE TAPS at 21 feet....every shot!(When under an instructors watch...we were allowed to get nutty. )http://www.doodnet.com/images/qualify2019.jpg

(https://www.geeplate.com/shop/glock-26-27-33-39/) I rarely shoot my G19 anymore. Amazing that such a minute change in the baseplate can make in the grip and feel of the gun. Retiredguns Posted November 3, 2019 at 02:51 PM Author Share Posted November 3, 2019 at 02:51 PM I look forward to a review of this gun after you have 500 or more rounds through it. Let us know how it is doing and if any hickups . I am up to around 300rds of several types of ammo and zero failures of any kind. I think SA put some thought into this pistol. One thing you see in most shooting reviews is reliability. Shooting for the first time. 5 yds slow, 5 yds rapid, double taps, 10 yds, 15yds. Now that I painted my front sight ring fluorescent orange, I will get better. My old eyes can't see green like they used to. http://www.tacomaguitarforum.com/tgf/hctargets.jpg http://www.tacomaguitarforum.com/tgf/sights.jpg
