2smartby1/2 Posted March 22, 2019 at 11:05 PM Share Posted March 22, 2019 at 11:05 PM I sure would like a can for my .300... And the ability to SBR my 10.5"'s if I wanted to...just so that I could have a vertical fore-grip. Assuming I can get them out of the lake of course.... PPK Posted March 22, 2019 at 11:22 PM Share Posted March 22, 2019 at 11:22 PM The only compromise I offered was at the Federal level, but ok... I'll bite. How do we accomplish what you are asking for in Illinois under current conditions? What's the plan? There is no plan to make this happen immediately. Right now the plan is to fill out witness slips; make phone calls to legislators; attend IGOLD, attend the town hall meetings both pro and anti; join the ISRA, NRA and GOA; campaign for, support, and vote for pro-gun candidates; fight what we can in courts ... We're up against a heck of a machine, especially since the last election, but no one is giving up all hope yet. Unless someone has a magic wish they would like to use, I think this is about all we have.
FarmHand357 Posted March 23, 2019 at 01:12 AM Share Posted March 23, 2019 at 01:12 AM I would like to see the prohibition on carry in some or all of the ICCL "gun-free zones" lose the force of law, like in Missouri.
soundguy Posted March 23, 2019 at 01:49 AM Share Posted March 23, 2019 at 01:49 AM I'd like to legally purchase some bargain pistol when traveling out of state and just bring it home. With current NICS this should be possible.
Gamma Posted March 23, 2019 at 02:38 AM Share Posted March 23, 2019 at 02:38 AM Sound suppressor regulation has imposed an almost incalculable amount of damage to public health via hearing damage, and despite hollywood are a non-entity in crime. Should be deregulated immediately, especially considering the existing onerous Federal regulation. Change the SBR section to just require compliance with Federal law. ATF misinterprets the wording that is there which makes it even more difficult. There are a lot of little changes to hunting regulations that shouldn't even be controversial, like allowing pistol-caliber rifles for deer hunting, and allowing repeating pistols and pistol-caliber rifles. Allow rimfires for turkey hunting. Pet peeve is that ISP invented a requirement for fingerprints for FCCL instructors, when there is no such requirement for licensees or in the law for instructors. Should be done away with. IL SC just fixed one of my suggestions, allowing taser/stun guns. Knowing Illinois they'll probably try to implement some kind of separate carry license for stun guns. Most of the statutory designated victim zones in the FCCA need to be done away with, particularly the obviously racist restrictions on public transportation. Interstate rest areas as another example are patently ridiculous to claim as being a "sensitive government facility". They have 911 call boxes just outside the building for crying out loud because it's a high crime area. Eliminate waiting period for FCCL holders, as if the 30 day wait for a FOID and 30~100 day wait for the FCCL isn't long enough. Then someone standing there at the counter who's carrying a loaded firearm on his person can't take their firearm purchase because they might do something rash. Really? ISP should have statutory time limits for administrative actions / appeals, beyond which courts would be empowered to take action. Existing licensees should be afforded notice and an opportunity to be heard before a revocation. I'm sure I could come up with a lot more suggestions, these are just the most obvious that come to mind.

BobPistol Posted March 23, 2019 at 04:54 PM Share Posted March 23, 2019 at 04:54 PM I'd like full constitutional carry, and a presumption that if one is lawfully carrying a gun, they're not evil and horrible. I do all of those things, but I don't generally hear about positive things that we want... just negative things we don't. Saying "I want it all" is a great way to make sure you're disappointed. Also, while I am a 2nd amendment absolutist, I am also a realist. That's why I started this topic.

Who am I kidding? This is Illannoy. I'd like this as well. There have been many times that I've felt I needed to be very careful about carrying anything that even looks firearms related (range bag, etc), for fear of people freaking out. Ricky Two Guns Posted March 26, 2019 at 12:43 PM Share Posted March 26, 2019 at 12:43 PM A well regulated militia, being necessary for the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. gearsmithy Posted March 26, 2019 at 01:10 PM Share Posted March 26, 2019 at 01:10 PM Compromise? We're the only one's who've been compromising since 1934! Compromise requires some party to get something in return. If you asked me ten years ago I'd be willing to make a deal that looked like UBC's for full repeal of the NFA and GCA, national reciprocity/constitutional carry, and federal preemption. Now, after the anti's have shown their cards?.... not another inch!

skinnyb82 Posted March 27, 2019 at 09:20 PM Share Posted March 27, 2019 at 09:20 PM Yeah and calling your congressman/senator in Illinois is usually as useless as "boobs" on a boar when it comes to all things conservative. So we complain. Oh well. By the time JB the Hutt is done with Illinois, there'll only be one congressional district for the entire state due to outmigration. Oh, maybe two or three. Illinois IS going to lose congressional seats, though. Sent from my VS987 using Tapatalk

Hipshot Percussion Posted April 4, 2019 at 08:46 PM Share Posted April 4, 2019 at 08:46 PM I'm playing the "long" game. I voted for Trump and I will continue to vote for a President who will put Constitutional Textual Originalists on SCOTUS. This will, eventually, bust out the Socialists and make us free again. I'm 62, so I may not be here when it happens, but it will help my kids and my grandbabies. Thats about all i can do.

JTHunter Posted April 6, 2019 at 03:09 AM Share Posted April 6, 2019 at 03:09 AM Wait for Madigan to retire, or otherwise leave power of Speaker's chair and head of D party. If we can't move legislation through the committees then it can't be debated on the floor. Until then, follow the lead on this from Molly, Mauser, TV. Or get a "toe tag" put on his foot.
