cybermgk Posted April 17, 2018 at 02:54 PM Posted April 17, 2018 at 02:54 PM I was going to contact my county board (McHenry) until I read more about the board chairman. It would be worthless http://www.nwherald.com/2018/02/23/mchenry-county-board-chairman-jack-franks-on-florida-shooting-we-have-to-act-before-its-too-late/a5xscbd/ It makes no sense to pay hundreds of billions of dollars for national defense while our citizens are being slaughtered, not in acts of war by foreign aggressors, but in schools, parks and movie theaters, Franks said. Gun owners need to be asked if they really need to own weapons that can quickly spit out hundreds of rounds for the sole purpose of killing people. That's unsettling, considering most of the decent LGS's/Ranges are in McHenry. You need to vote that Mayor out.
cybermgk Posted April 17, 2018 at 02:54 PM Posted April 17, 2018 at 02:54 PM One anti speaker was an eye doctor. One was a pediatric oncologist (good guy, just pretty far left and wrong on this issue). At least one other anti had an advanced degrees too; but probably none of them actually know anything about guns and are horribly misinformed on this issue. And that is the issue with the majority of intellectuals: they feel they know whats best for everyone. I have a pretty high IQ as well, but that doesnt give me the privilege to determine what is correct and what is wrong. Im reminded of this when dealing with the enlightened/highly educated left. Complete lack of common sense http://i.imgur.com/6UTIgs4l.jpg They have also had many more years of indoctrination as well. Universities have gone very left.

chicagoresident Posted April 17, 2018 at 03:32 PM Posted April 17, 2018 at 03:32 PM Most speakers were anti and obviously very poorly informed and poorly behaved.Judging from the picture the poorly behaved anti's looked likehttp://www.ipinpoint.ca/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/baby_boomers.jpgAssuming they were overeducated SIU students turned townies that moved north for cheap living off social security?Yeah, the majority of the antis are boomers. They long for the 1960s/early 70s days of protesting all over again. That said, its not all boomers, just the leftist ones that want to feel young again lolI'll give the hardcore righty boomers a free pass into "the greatest generation" mainly due to similar life experiences like the horrors of war, economic struggles, love of nationalism, a lifetime of hard work paying for their good scotch/bourbon, and their "get off my lawn" attitude. But the lefty boomers all deserve the Obama death panels they wanted so badly.

Most speakers were anti and obviously very poorly informed and poorly behaved. This is how they roll. So tired of the very poorly informed and poorly behaved getting their way. Sanctuary counties / cities is the perfect response if preemption gets no respect. Next, let's demand the same level of government funding for gun safe purchases (if it saves one life) as gets spent for social programs like Planned Parenthood. Killing babies is more important
steveTA84 Posted April 17, 2018 at 04:32 PM Posted April 17, 2018 at 04:32 PM It’s official http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/ct-met-effingham-county-gun-sanctuary-20180417-story.html Leaders in Illinois' Effingham County have adopted a resolution declaring it a sanctuary for gun owners. The county board Monday passed the resolution on an 8-1 vote and directed employees not to enforce new Illinois laws that would “unconstitutionally restrict the Second Amendment.”
Patriot Millennial Posted April 17, 2018 at 05:21 PM Posted April 17, 2018 at 05:21 PM Effingham county is close enough to me that I feel since they passed it, I could probably get Coles to do it as well. How would I go about proposing this?
Ranger Posted April 17, 2018 at 05:25 PM Author Posted April 17, 2018 at 05:25 PM Send a copy of the resolution to your states attorney, county board rep, county board chair and county clerk (emails should be online) and ask them to consider it. I'd love to see most counties pass it.

cybermgk Posted April 17, 2018 at 08:25 PM Posted April 17, 2018 at 08:25 PM Ah, what the heck. Sent it to Lake County Board Members. All you can do, is all you can do after all.
cavtrpr Posted April 17, 2018 at 09:32 PM Posted April 17, 2018 at 09:32 PM Attending Effingham County Board meeting where resolution proposed. Most speakers were anti and obviously very poorly informed and poorly behaved. Had one pro speaker who did a very good job and shared stats that anties didn't want to hear. It passed with 8 ayes and 1 nay. Good County Board. Which other counties have passed it?As i remember Pike County, IL passed a resolution back in 2007 against any further state firearm laws

Ranger Posted April 18, 2018 at 12:11 AM Author Posted April 18, 2018 at 12:11 AM Patriot: suspect that you now realize I posted it. If can't download and still need, let me know.
Ranger Posted April 18, 2018 at 12:14 AM Author Posted April 18, 2018 at 12:14 AM Oops. I hadn't refreshed before posting.
Patriot Millennial Posted April 18, 2018 at 01:54 AM Posted April 18, 2018 at 01:54 AM Got it and sent to both my board member, who is also the chairman, and the Coles County Clerk. I couldn't find the email to the States Attorney. I was thinking maybe if a few other people from Coles County would send it to, perhaps we would make an impression.
junebugs95 Posted April 18, 2018 at 03:22 PM Posted April 18, 2018 at 03:22 PM Which other counties have passed it?One other county...."He modeled the legislation on a similar resolution passed by the Iroquois County Board on March 13."... I'm so excited to see more counties considering the resolution my self and fellow Iroquois cointy board member Dan Rayman created. Keep it up. Ask your county boards to do the same. Symbolic yes. It sends a message to springfield.
harley1955 Posted April 18, 2018 at 03:53 PM Posted April 18, 2018 at 03:53 PM So far I haven't heard back from anyone in Christian County.
