Naldoon Posted March 16, 2018 at 09:25 AM Share Posted March 16, 2018 at 09:25 AM Well. HUGE surprise for me! I moved at the beginning of year. I changed over my license, my plates and everything else required. I submitted and did the change of address on my FOID card on 2/19/18. I am not a CCL. This is JUST the FOID. I log in regularly to check the status. It is still flagged RED as "UNDER REVIEW." As of 3/16/18. Think it's long? It takes this long for a simple change of address! Worst part? A week after I submitted, I bought my first firearm after having my FOID for several years. Guess who got flagged during the background check because of this? I have my first firearm simply gathering dust at the dealer and have to wait an eternity just because of a basic change of address.
222 rem mag Posted March 16, 2018 at 12:56 PM Share Posted March 16, 2018 at 12:56 PM Yup typical of foid devision. Im still trying to get updated foid from when number changed for ccl. State took my payment over 6 months ago. No card
d_dinc Posted March 16, 2018 at 12:57 PM Share Posted March 16, 2018 at 12:57 PM I had the same speedy response myself about 2.5 years ago when my address changed. Sad part is it’s not by accident, but by design.
Hipshot Percussion Posted March 16, 2018 at 02:03 PM Share Posted March 16, 2018 at 02:03 PM And let's not forget - even as you are 'under review', ISP is still doing a daily background check on your FOID.
Scipio24 Posted March 16, 2018 at 03:11 PM Share Posted March 16, 2018 at 03:11 PM I moved about a year ago and got my FOID address updated as well early last summer. If I remember, it took around 6 weeks for everything to get done. Getting my CCL after was a faster process overall, LOL.
tkroenlein Posted March 16, 2018 at 03:43 PM Share Posted March 16, 2018 at 03:43 PM I got my FOID and CCL address changes in under 30 and 60 days, respectively.
chicagoresident Posted March 16, 2018 at 04:26 PM Share Posted March 16, 2018 at 04:26 PM If I'm planning on buying a gun at the end of the month should I hold off on this change of address? Or does it not affect NICS? If the CCW part gets delayed longer then the grace period can you not carry?

papa Posted March 16, 2018 at 06:33 PM Share Posted March 16, 2018 at 06:33 PM It was almost two years ago that I moved and did the address change. It took 33 days for the FOID and 34 days for the FCCL cards to be in the mail box.
Truck1 Posted April 24, 2018 at 09:09 PM Share Posted April 24, 2018 at 09:09 PM (edited) Im at two months of "under review" for my address change... I have been trying all day to reach someone at ISP for an update. The phone automation system keeps telling me to call back when I select "0". spaceman spiff Posted April 24, 2018 at 10:11 PM Share Posted April 24, 2018 at 10:11 PM I just did a change of address myself on 4/20. I email ISP and was informed that my current cards are still valid during the address change and that I may continue to carry. From what I've read here, email seems to be the best way to reach someone at ISPFSB. Ask_CCL@isp.state.il.us
