Sunhaven1 Posted June 20, 2016 at 05:36 PM Posted June 20, 2016 at 05:36 PM just bought a new stripped lower Friday, my first purchase since receiving my CCL. The store owner said my FOID was no longer valid and the state was supposed to send me a new FOID to match my CCL. It's been over two years, is this a true statement, and if so who do I contact to get a new FOID? The store used my CCL so no problem with the purchase, but any input wouldn't be great Thanks
gLockedandLoaded Posted June 20, 2016 at 05:39 PM Posted June 20, 2016 at 05:39 PM You probably should have gotten one with your CCL. Try running your FOID here: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwj9gsX8k7fNAhUF7CYKHSi3CGAQFggeMAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ispfsb.com%2Fpublic%2FFirearms%2FFOID%2FPersonToPersonFirearmTransfer.aspx&usg=AFQjCNGCbu_5kfADT7uqpngeqfyRLpGK_g If it doesn't work you will probably need to call ISP to get a new one. I was one of the early birds for my CCL, so I didn't get a new FOID. But from what I understand all of the people from 2015 on seem to get new FOIDS too.
Cerus Posted June 20, 2016 at 05:46 PM Posted June 20, 2016 at 05:46 PM If you had the older FOID yes which it seems you did. I'd call or email the ISP.
bmyers Posted June 20, 2016 at 05:58 PM Posted June 20, 2016 at 05:58 PM I was one of the early applicants to FCCL and ISP never changed my FOID card and my FOID card is still valid (just ran it through the system last week and was approved). So the store owner statement isn't exactly accurate because early FCCL applicants did NOT get new FOID cards issued to them and yet they are still valid even though my numbers are slightly different.

Let me know what you find.Thank you!
Patriots & Tyrants Posted June 20, 2016 at 07:30 PM Posted June 20, 2016 at 07:30 PM I have an older FOID and received my CCL just before they started doing this. As of a week ago my FOID was still active and good. This issue seems to be random almost in how it hits people.
notatreehugger Posted June 20, 2016 at 08:49 PM Posted June 20, 2016 at 08:49 PM I've called them a month after I received my CCL and asked why I haven't received my FOID yet. I was questioned if I've ever had one. I told her I had a CCL issued by ISP. She put me on hold and came back with an even more terrible attitude and stated that she will have to put in a reprint order. She never would tell me why, so I'll assume it never got printed. 15 days since I spoke with them and still no FOID card yet
Molly B. Posted June 20, 2016 at 08:51 PM Posted June 20, 2016 at 08:51 PM (edited) Please, always get a name, date, time when you contact ISP. Edited June 20, 2016 at 08:51 PM by Molly B.
ScopeEye Posted June 20, 2016 at 09:25 PM Posted June 20, 2016 at 09:25 PM My FOID # doesn't match my CCLMy IL CCL was in the first printing, my FOID was new about year before my IL CCL was received
RobR369 Posted June 20, 2016 at 11:13 PM Posted June 20, 2016 at 11:13 PM I also still have the old FOID card along with my CCL. Recently was going thru a private sale and gave my FOID number and DOB to the seller and he immediately sent me back a message saying I was giving him a bogus number because it had less digits than his FOID. After explaining it to him and telling it him to just run it, ended well. Moral of the story is, not everyone with a CCL was issued a new FOID
Bubbacs Posted June 21, 2016 at 01:29 AM Posted June 21, 2016 at 01:29 AM New FOID's weren't issued until June IIRC of 2015, prior to that we kept our old FOID's and old numbers.
Monty80 Posted June 30, 2016 at 12:42 AM Posted June 30, 2016 at 12:42 AM Glad I saw this. I was expecting a new FOID card.
Mark Fitton Posted June 30, 2016 at 01:18 AM Posted June 30, 2016 at 01:18 AM New FOID's weren't issued until June IIRC of 2015, prior to that we kept our old FOID's and old numbers.Hope this is dead-on correct. Sure seems to be.I was in the first big batch of CCL recipients (end of Feb, early March 2014). Moved in late 2014, got new CCL and new FOID to match new address. So, I'm still carrying the old style (not Old Style) card.My status on the ISP site is active and I ran my own number through the private-party pre-sale check on the ISP site. Came back fine.
Bubbacs Posted June 30, 2016 at 04:03 AM Posted June 30, 2016 at 04:03 AM @Monty80 From reading your other posts, you will be getting a new matching FOID card! The older guys, pre June '15, again if IIRC, still have non matching FOIDS, like me.......Once they started matching them, it was automatic and you'd get both, not together in the same envelope, but both. If Sunhaven is correct, and has had his CCL for 2 years, he won't have a new matching FOID.If his FOID is invalid it's another problem, and the dealer is wrong and ill informed as to the old having to match!I'd tun my own found at the ISP site and check it myself or like MollyB stated, check into your ISP account and look at the status.
Monty80 Posted June 30, 2016 at 05:53 AM Posted June 30, 2016 at 05:53 AM (edited) I originally got my FOID in July of last near and it is the new design. MY FOID number and the number on my CCL is the same so I'm not concerned of I get another one or not. Edited June 30, 2016 at 12:38 PM by Monty80
Rmac702 Posted June 30, 2016 at 12:26 PM Posted June 30, 2016 at 12:26 PM My FOID was issued in April of 2014, and I received my CCL in April of 2016. They sent me a new FOID card (10 days after the CCL), with a new number that matches the CCL new number.
