ChicagoRonin70 Posted February 14, 2015 at 11:05 PM Posted February 14, 2015 at 11:05 PM HB265 Witness Slips Current tally HB148: 234 in Opposition, 2 Proponents. Colleen Daley has a friend! Current tally HB265: 231 in Opposition, 1 Proponent. Well, maybe half a friend. I wonder what this says regarding either actual support, or is it just a measure of apathy (or in the case of the opposition, the lack thereof)?

Going back to your question about whether we affect the progress of a bill. both of these are bills that have recurred in various forms over the past few years. HB265 in particular is the kind of bill that could get more traction than it has if our opposition was not made known. On its surface it has political appeal, at least to those who don't look very deeply at it.

ChicagoRonin70 Posted February 17, 2015 at 04:17 AM Posted February 17, 2015 at 04:17 AM Has anyone checked the tallies of Proponent and Opponent for these recently? The Proponents have 5 for HB148 and 3 for HB265 . . . . . . and Opponents have jumped to 545 and 537 respectively in the past 3 days! That's pretty interesting!
C0untZer0 Posted February 17, 2015 at 04:57 AM Posted February 17, 2015 at 04:57 AM We'd like to hit 1000, it just seems though that we don't get those kinds of numbers until the anti-gun politicians introduce some assault weapons bill that would outlaw a normal 17 round Glock and then we see Second Amendment supporters wake up from their stupor and fill out the witness slips. The enemies of liberty have chance after chance after chance... it is OK if they fail today, there is always tomorrow. People who believe in liberty must win every time, the gun grabbers only have to win once.
markthesignguy Posted February 17, 2015 at 02:36 PM Posted February 17, 2015 at 02:36 PM done, long ago (page 6) up to 576 to 7 on hb0148 and 566 to 3 on HB0265 Interesting to look at the those in favor of them:The usual ICAHV shill(s) andMadiar Government Relations LLC, representing Lurie Childrens Hospital and for HB0148, there's up to three (with one doubled) that I suspect might be on our side and just poked the wrong buttons, it happens. CHECK your witness slips after creation, if you are on the dashboard it's easy. You CAN GO BACK AND EDIT THEM. I will check to see if accidental doubles can be rectified. edit - no way to delete doubled slip, but an inadvertent wrong position can be changed. From the "My Witness Slips" page(s - house and senate) where they are listed in entry order, so doubles may not jump out at you... DO NOT HIT THE "REMOVE POSITION BUTTON", in the witness slip editing screen,it removed the position category choices and they WON'T come back!! Which suppresses an update. Not a disaster because you can just close the window, abandoning the change and starting over again.
