McCroskey Posted February 26, 2015 at 04:31 AM Author Posted February 26, 2015 at 04:31 AM Thanks for passing along the new vendor and welcome to ICarry.
chislinger Posted February 28, 2015 at 04:52 PM Posted February 28, 2015 at 04:52 PM OK, so I sent my usual e-mail to Midway along with the ordinance. Their response was, basically "Thank you for sending us this, our system is always updated with the latest laws". So... I'm not really sure what that means. Anyway, I guess Midway is a "maybe", depending on who you get.Midway is definitely "no", they even cite the old Chicago law banning certain handgun calibers. Odd thing is they ask for an alternate address? Would they really ship to an alternate address in violation of state law to avoid violating a city ordinance that hasn't been on the books in years???
ming Posted February 28, 2015 at 05:55 PM Posted February 28, 2015 at 05:55 PM Hello, this is my very first post after registering. I have been following the forum as a guest for quite some time though. I was able to convince another seller to ship to Chicago and wanted to share. So you can add another to the list. http://www.kygunco.com Kentucky Gun Company. I ordered some ammo from them about a week ago. It had to come from their warehouse. Yesterday I got an email from Amanda who requested a copy of my FOID. I immediately copied it as an attachment and sent it. Next I got another email that mentions that because I live in Chicago, they were not going to be able to ship it to my address. I politely responded by sending a series of emails. First had the link and wording to FOID Act 430 ILCS 65/3 (b-5) about purchasing and having ammo shipped from out of state. I also included part of the Chicago Municipal Code. In a another email, after I had found this thread, I included a link to it so they could see all the other dealers that were willing to ship to Chicago and also pointed out post #14 by officedrone which had a link to show the current Municipal Code wording along with what was removed. Well it worked. I never got an email back but this morning I got a confirmation email that my order had shipped. I am guessing that they were at least willing to spend some time investigating and found out that it is ok. Just wanted to share.Good job mikeyk!

chicago555 Posted April 4, 2015 at 06:30 AM Posted April 4, 2015 at 06:30 AM i got a email from Ventura Munitions saying that due to me living in Chicago that they would be unable to ship any ammo to me
McCroskey Posted April 6, 2015 at 12:07 AM Author Posted April 6, 2015 at 12:07 AM i got a email from Ventura Munitions saying that due to me living in Chicago that they would be unable to ship any ammo to me I've contacted them and will let you know what they say (if they respond). It's an odd response, considering their website doesn't list Chicago as restricted (though admittedly I haven't checked in a few months).
vactor Posted April 6, 2015 at 02:20 AM Posted April 6, 2015 at 02:20 AM http://exammo-com.3dcartstores.com/Extraordinary Ammo WILL NOTSHIP TO CHICAGO. sent them a copy of the act, along with highlighting the proper portions. even charged me a $10 "restocking" fee, even though their website makes NO mention of not shipping to chicago. bad bad BAD! please take them OFF the list of places that ship to chicago. not sure why they were added to this list.

cnwfan3 Posted April 6, 2015 at 03:05 AM Posted April 6, 2015 at 03:05 AM I called Freedom Munitions a few days ago to ask their policy on behalf of a friend (their website says they won't ship to Chicago). They said that as of a few months ago, they will ship to Chicago as they have reviewed the new laws in IL and saw it was legal. The woman I spoke to was not aware that their website still reflected that they won't ship there. She said they will be changing that on their website shortly.

I'd call my credit card company and dispute the $10 charge. They have no business charging you a restocking fee when they were the ones canceling the order! What a shady company!
McCroskey Posted April 6, 2015 at 02:00 PM Author Posted April 6, 2015 at 02:00 PM Extraordinary Ammo is off. The reason they were added is because their website doesn't list a shipping restriction to Chicago (it did not when I added them and I still can't find one). If you ask me, they have a lot of gall charging a restocking fee for something that isn't illegal and that they don't list on their website as "we don't ship here".

They were some of the first people I contacted and were very friendly, said they would review the law with their lawyer. I'll definitely add them once their website has been updated.
mrpopzzz Posted April 11, 2015 at 03:29 PM Posted April 11, 2015 at 03:29 PM Alamo ammo no longer ships to Chicago.I had placed a order two months ago with no problem. When I tried placing another or dr er yesterday I got the following message. "Not Available At This Time Sorry, we are not shipping to your region at this time. Please contact us for alternate arrangements." I emailed them and havent gotten a reply. But I seen their shipping/return policy states that they do not ship to Chicago.

McCroskey Posted April 12, 2015 at 10:25 PM Author Posted April 12, 2015 at 10:25 PM Sounds like someone is getting to these guys... removed from the list. Maybe this thread should be restricted is some fashion? I don't think so. I/we always knew there would be some who won't want to sell ammo here and I think this is the best way to weed out those sellers. There is nothing illegal about selling ammo to residents of Chicago with a valid FOID, anyone who refuses because they think it's still illegal are mistaken and anyone who actually CHANGES their policy when the law is clear don't need to have our business anyway. I don't want to waste time with flip-floppers, which is why I took MidwayUSA off even though I've personally purchased ammo from them on multiple occasions. There will be other sellers added to this list as time goes by, I just haven't had time to update it lately.

If one or two sellers are going to change their minds when they're not breaking any laws then good riddance. This has to stand up to scrutiny and it will take time. If it's not illegal they have zero reason to deny it other than ignorance. For every flip flopper I'm adding two or three more new ones. Added the following:Selway ArmoryTrop Elite Equipment

aboughton Posted April 15, 2015 at 03:40 AM Posted April 15, 2015 at 03:40 AM Sportsman's Guide (www.sportsmansguide.com) is also living in the past. Email response below to my inquiry of their refusal to ship ammunition to Chicago. Due to the various state, county and municipal laws that exist, we are not always able to comply with each individual guideline. Not all of the restrictions are based on laws on the books, but could be a company decision based on other particular concerns. These may include whether the state has law suits pending involving gun owners and recent court decisions that may affect businesses like ours. Also, in some cases the states' laws are so vague that they could be interpreted unfavorably in the event a court action was ever involved. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us.Enjoy the Outdoors!Steve KennedyProducts Specialist

aboughton Posted April 17, 2015 at 08:36 PM Posted April 17, 2015 at 08:36 PM CajunAmmo is balking at shipping to Chicago, I will ask what their reasoning is behind this decision. "Thank you for your order, but we are unable to ship to the City of Chicago. Additionally your state requires the presentation of a FOID to complete the transaction. Please provide the FOID and a suitable shipping address, and your order will process. Please see the documentation below.BrandonCajunAmmo"
