lostspring Posted September 3, 2014 at 01:51 AM Posted September 3, 2014 at 01:51 AM We will be going to the Alliance Center in Madison,Wi this weekend. Is it a prohibited place to carry? I can't find any source for info.
RacerDave6 Posted September 3, 2014 at 02:03 AM Posted September 3, 2014 at 02:03 AM Madison is a liberal bastion of WI. I would expect everyplace there to be posted.
lockman Posted September 3, 2014 at 02:16 AM Posted September 3, 2014 at 02:16 AM If your referring to the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, it is owned and operated by the county of Dane. It is not a specifically prohibited location unless posted or asked to leave. My guess is the place is posted.
Nic Posted September 3, 2014 at 02:18 AM Posted September 3, 2014 at 02:18 AM If you're talking about the Alliant Center, that's a no firearms zone. I went to a convention there and we were specifically told that the entire Alliant Center is a prohibited area for firearms even with a permit/license.
lostspring Posted September 3, 2014 at 09:59 AM Author Posted September 3, 2014 at 09:59 AM Thanks guys. Yes it is the Alliant Center. Big quilt show there and the wife wants to go.
brianj - now in Kansas Posted September 3, 2014 at 03:19 PM Posted September 3, 2014 at 03:19 PM Yep. We go every spring for the Midwest Horse Fair. They're posted right where you go into the parking lot. And, surprisingly enough, most of the rest of Madison (or at least the parts that we go to) isn't posted. Protip: If your wife is dragging you up for a quilting convention, make her pay. http://primequarter.com/ Assuming you're a happy and confirmed carnivore, that's the best place to get a hunk of dead cow that I've seen in quite some time. The prices are pretty reasonable for the cuts they have. It's a "grill your own" joint, with three 15' long charcoal grills stationed throughout the restaurant. You can cook your own steak (which I always do, as I'm very particular about how my steak is cooked), or you can have one of their cooks cook it for you. Figure $70 for dinner for two with a nice bottle of wine, and you won't be able to eat for a week. The only gotcha: Prime Quarter isn't posted, but the law in Wisconsin's a little different. Maximum BAC is 0.00% So, if you want the bottle of wine, leave the sidearm in the lockbox. If you choose not to partake, feel free to bring it along. Bri
lawman Posted September 3, 2014 at 08:10 PM Posted September 3, 2014 at 08:10 PM Maximum BAC in Wisconsin is not 0.00. It is not specifically defined, but the standard is probably the same for OWI (that's what DUI is called up there). Here is a link to the department of justice FAQs. See page 50 of the pdf, or page 43 of the manual. http://www.doj.state.wi.us/sites/default/files/dles/ccw/ccw-faq.pdf
brianj - now in Kansas Posted September 3, 2014 at 09:34 PM Posted September 3, 2014 at 09:34 PM I stand corrected. I been told that by a friend who lives in Madison and had a Wisconsin CCL. Next time, I'll check myself. Sent from my LG-D959 using Tapatalk
