MSNBC CCW on campus poll

I voted, and it was in the affirmative, but I had a serious problem doing it. There are a lot of things about this story that doesn't jive. I pointed them out in another thread, but nobody has rebutted what I said.

1) She's not 21. How is she going to carry what she can't purchase?

2) She's from California. San Diego to be specific. To get a permit in New Hampshire nonresidents must have a permit from their home state first. Who wants to bet she doesn't have a permit from California?

3) Even if Dartmouth did reverse course state and federal laws still apply, and this poor girl is screwed. Lawful purchase age for a handgun needs to be reduced first. Laws concerning where somebody can carry also need to be changed. Without these changes it doesn't matter what Dartmouth does.

Don't misunderstand me. I fully support this girl carrying a concealed firearm. Any law abiding adult should be able to. It's just that a whole lot of things need to happen before this girl can do so. In the meantime, I recommend she lockdown her social media profiles so her stalker is unable to follow her.

Make sure that you vote twice if you live in Cook County.

I voted twice and I live in Tazewell. I used the iPhone and the iPad. LOL

I was wondering the same thing. I think there is more to it that what we are being told. I agree is SHOULD NOT be a issue, that all should be able to carry. I will be watching this case closely.

I believe that New Hampshire has an emergency need provision to get her taken care of, so state law is not the issue. Since the stalker is in prison currently, it may work out that she can make her 21st birthday before the loon gets out.

An alternative I'm not seeing written about is her changing her name and getting the heck off social media. If she went dark for a year or two she'd lose this guy.

My question to her is where does she plan to live when she graduates? Commiefornia isn't the right answer if she values carry. (yes, pot meet kettle Mr. TRJ who stayed in Illinois for 20 years before getting his license)

She can purchase, just not from an FFL.

Pretty easy for a college student to change their residence. Post Peruta CA should be issuing in any event. With her situation she might have been given a permit before Peruta, she's the poster child for what "may issue" is supposed to be about.

Yes, the 21 age limit for FFL sales and interstate purchase restrictions should be rescinded.
