Robert4960 Posted August 13, 2020 at 04:35 AM Share Posted August 13, 2020 at 04:35 AM (edited) An earlier post said a ccl appeal is not necessary to get a ccl reinstated. Is that right? A CCL appeal can take a year? Is it true, I just need to submit the order of protection dismissed form with the Court Order? Please Advise. Sent appeal in 2015. Spoke to a guy in 2017 who said my appeal looks pretty cut and dry amd should be approved no problem, but theres mo time frame on when someone will look at it, yet here it is 5 years later and still nothing. Only response I get is still available under review. I mean, I have emailed, called, left messages by the dozens, no response. Not sure where to even go from here. Do I need to talk to lawyer, or just sit on my hands? Thanks for the site and advice, it helps for someone like me that isnt too knowledgeable in this area

Robert4960 Posted August 19, 2020 at 05:10 AM Share Posted August 19, 2020 at 05:10 AM (edited) My FOID license was revoked after an order of protection was filed. TWO weeks later in Court the Judge vacated the order of protection. I filed an appeal and now have my FOID back (in two months). I know I am one of the lucky ones to get my FOID card back so fast! NOW, how do I get my CCL back? You can try this form, check to see if there is an appeal option on your ISP CCL page, if not, Fax to the number on the form along with a certified copy of the vacated order and your FOID card. CCL Review Form IC-OP dismissed-.pdf I did this by FAX and also by registered mail. Remember, you have 60 days from FOID revocation to CCL activation. I was in the 60 to 65 day range. I hope they dont expect me to start all over again with a new CCL application and fee. Yes, I am worried Edited August 19, 2020 at 05:13 AM by Robert4960

N9NExASIAN Posted September 2, 2020 at 02:02 PM Share Posted September 2, 2020 at 02:02 PM Has anyone ran into an issue with a mental health appeal? It has been over 5 years so I received the mental health evaluation and the doctor sent the paperwork to the state. I also sent the other paperwork requesting the appeal.I haven't heard anything and it's been over 5 months. I have tried to contact ISP multiple times through email and also left a voicemail on their customer service line but haven't heard anything back.Does anyone know what the typical turnaround time is for this?My application online still shows "denied" status.Any help would be appreciated. Molly B. Posted September 2, 2020 at 04:22 PM Author Share Posted September 2, 2020 at 04:22 PM This type of appeal seems to be taking about 6 months to a year. Robert4960 Posted September 22, 2020 at 06:40 PM Share Posted September 22, 2020 at 06:40 PM Molly, can you help? Is there any phone number to reach a live person at the firearm services bureau? All I get is a automated menu that hangs up on me. My cc was suspended 4 months ago due to a now vacated completely bogus order of protection that I NEVER had a chance to defend myself before it was issued. My FOID card came back active two months ago active, but my CCC remains suspended after four months. THE ISP IS HIDING BEHIND AUTOMATED SYSTEMS THAT HANG UP ON ME. Tshaw1969 Posted September 22, 2020 at 11:13 PM Share Posted September 22, 2020 at 11:13 PM My FOID Card and CCL were revoked due to a fraudulent EOP on 10/21/2019. Judge let the EOP expire 23 days later (November 2019). Faxed and send by certified mail all paperwork: 03/18/2020. FOID Reinstated: 06/21/2020 (Praise The Lord) thanks to Molly. Divorce is still in progress (or lack there of), spouse trying to file Red Flag Law. No mental history of any kind. My legal council had to send a Cease and Desist Letter to opposing legal council. Still have not received a single firearm or ammunition from my life long firearms collection (many of the firearms and ammunition are premarital property marital) stored at the marital home, since being escorted out of our marital home on 10/22/2019; by a ******* County Sheriffs Deputy! CCL Still Revoked with no option to appeal. No criminal history of any kind! Obviously, going on 6 months waiting to get some kind of response concerning for the CCL. Hellcat Posted September 28, 2020 at 03:53 PM Share Posted September 28, 2020 at 03:53 PM I am about to send all of the paperwork for an appeal, but I have a few questions before I do. First, my FOID was revoked due to an involuntary admission to a mental health facility that was without cause and authority. The admission was more than two years ago. Since the admission was less than five years ago can I still appeal? I have had an examination by a psychiatrist and he has cleared me. I believe that I can appeal, but I just want to make sure. Second, I cannot find any paperwork with my FOID Card number, so I am unable to put it on the paperwork for the appeal. I've called and emailed ISP Firearms Bureau about 10 times leaving messages requesting the FOID number, but never received replies. How can I go about getting my FOID number? If I leave it off of the paperwork I feel that the appeal will be delayed. Third, as far as a hearing goes do I send a request asking for a hearing with my appeal paperwork now or do I wait with that in case my appeal is denied? Thank you "If it was easy then everyone would do it."
Molly B. Posted September 28, 2020 at 06:39 PM Author Share Posted September 28, 2020 at 06:39 PM First, yes you are allowed to submit an appeal if it has been less than 5 years. Beware the forms and requirements are different for more than 5 years. Second, register for a FOID account on the ISP website. When it asks if you had a previous FOID card answer yes. When asked if you know the number, answer no. Once the account is registered, you should be able to see your FOID number. Third, if you request a hearing at this time you will most likely be denied a hearing because the appeal process has not yet begun.

CCL Still Revoked with no option to appeal. No criminal history of any kind! Obviously, going on 6 months waiting to get some kind of response concerning for the CCL. WHY IS YOUR CCL REVOKED WITH NO OPTION OF APPEAL?? Currently, CCL has been in Revoked status since the EOP of 10/22/2019. Was extremely fortunate to have Molly help me finally get my FOID Card back in September 2020, Praise The Lord! However, I have not been so fortunate with the CCL. I had sent all the required forms and paperwork, at the same time (March 2020), that I sent the same, that I did for my FOID Card. Never received any response of any kind. So, by June Molly had me try completing and providing some additional forms. Still, no response of any kind in late September, 2020. As a result, I called and left a voicemail on September 25th, 2020. Finally, received an email requesting additional information, that I was under the impression that ISP already had in hand. Faxed copies and certified mailed documents on September 26th, 2020. The email stated they required the documents, in order to finalize my process. Still, as of today, shows revoked and haven’t heard or received anything. As a result, I left another voicemail yesterday (October 8th, 2020) I always try to provide them with everything they request; within a 24 hour timeframe. I pray to have this process completed and reinstated prior to POTUS election! Bottom line for my wording, is that, after my mailing of my original information in March 2020, if it wasn’t for Molly, I would still have been waiting to hear or receive something from ISP, concerning what was required to reinstate my CCL and ISP would also still be waiting on me. I never received anything (USPS or email) letting me know that additional information was required! Also, no new information listed on the ISP FB Page, since the original Revoke Status that goes back to the beginning of this mess! keimier Posted October 11, 2020 at 01:27 PM Share Posted October 11, 2020 at 01:27 PM In 1996 I was charged with a Felony in Wisconsin for making a fraudulent insurance claim >$500. After court and probation etc, the conviction was amended to a Misdemeanor count of Criminal Damage to Property (ss 943.01(1)). The public website to look up criminal records in Wisconsin reflected the amended conviction, however, the Wisconsin Department of Justice still listed it as a felony (for 24 YEARS!). I recently applied for a FOID card in Illinois and was denied based on the felony conviction. I made contact with officials from the county of conviction and they have had the Wisconsin Department of Justice correct the record to reflect the amended misdemeanor charge (I have a certified copy from Wis DOJ proving such). What steps/forms do I need to complete/submit to appeal the denial decision?
