The statute currently reads (as it always has):

 

(430 ILCS 66/65)
    Sec. 65. Prohibited areas.
    (a) A licensee under this Act shall not knowingly carry a firearm on or into:

 

       (14) Any real property under the control of the Cook        
            County Forest Preserve District.

This is the language the court found overly broad.

 

You may have been looking at one of the bills proposing to add a list of prohibited areas within the preserves.  Again, none of those have been passed into law.

Wouldn't this mean if you are on a bicycle with a gun in a school zone or in a park, you are ok as long as you stay on the bicycle?
