Recieved an invaldid Bolingbrook training certificate on 2/16. On 4/2 instructor's credentials were pulled. On 4/2 contacted ISP, attempting to prove that if you counted the range qualifing portion, I had the required instruction hours with the Hunter's Satey Card.

  • 4/2 request for assistance e-mail sent to ISP Director

  • received no response, 4/4 called the ISP Director's Exec. Asst.

  • 4/4 sent original e-mail to the Director’s Exec. Asst.

  • 4/4 recieved my CCL Denial Letter for Invalid Training

  • 4/17 recieved e-mail from the ISP Fire Arms Services Chief

  • 4/22 as directed e-mailed CCL Appeal Application to the ISP Appeals

  • 4/22 ISP rejected my appeal

  • 4/22 responded to the legal and ethical issues raised in Appeal rejection e-mail

  • 4/23 called by ISP Sargent and their rejection email was reinterpreted for me

  • 5/10-5/11 re-enrolled in 16 hour CCL Class, live fire drill and the NRA Basic Pistol Course

  • 5/12 as directed submitted new valid training certificate e-mail to the ISP Appeals Section

  • 5/27 resubmitted my valid training certificate including another CCL Appeals Application Form

  • 6/17 contacted my State Senator for assistance

  • 6/27 emailed CCL Appeals to check on my appeal status

  • 6/27 CCL Appeals replied they received my appeal

Thirty- two hours in CC Classes, passed two live fire qualifications, have an Illinois Hunters Safety Education Card, and NRA Basic Pistol Course Certificate for a total of forty-four hours of instruction. My employment necessitated fingerprinting and background checks conducted by ISP. My public record is completely clean and there are no disqualifying incidents or events. One-Hundred and sixty days and still waiting for CCL.

Just checked this morning. My permit shows active with exp date of 7-29.

Wow...exp. date of 7/29. I'd suggest that is a typo. Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't they good for 5 years? I would not go beyond 7/19 if it were me without renewing it.

Umm, 7/29/19... Since he posted on July 30 that it was approved the day before... If you meant it to be funny, don't forget to make your post purple or with $'s around it.

That's meant to show month/day. The permit goes active the same day it expires. If it expires 7/29/19 than it went active 7/29/14.

Eh didnt do any wally walks or anything closest I got was going to the local grocery store to get some stuff for the grill. Been carrying 3 yrs in other states on a Utah permit, and I always carry at home so there was no real novelity of it like it was when I first started carrying, only difference was more convience of not having to unload and drop it in the console.

Me too. Carry isn't new to me but I definitely wanted to use my new permit today. I've carried in other states since 2010.

Has the question been answered:

What happens if your instructor gets his license to teach pulled AFTER we have received our license? Do we suddenly get suspended?

It is possible. Haven't heard of any instances though.

It depends on why the instructor got pulled...if his original application was falsified you could have a problem. If it was a prospective violation....you are fine.

I have a friend who applied for his CCL in early January, had a problem with his digital signature because he used to work for ISP, that took a couple of months to straighten out, he had a digital signature with them but it is changed every 6 months and it had been more than 6 months since he quit. After that was straightened out there was a problem with his address because his legal address is a P.O. Box but his physical address is also on his drivers license.

I talked to him sunday and he said it had come about July 12 when he was out of town, so about 6 months for his application without prints.
