1911-380 Posted June 14, 2016 at 04:51 PM Share Posted June 14, 2016 at 04:51 PM Just out of pure curiosity, what is really meant by QC Verified? Obviously I get that it means your app has passed quality checks and everything is in order. But does this also mean your prints, photo, and training cert were verified good to go? I've heard of guys waiting 60 days just to get rejected for a unreadable training cert and starting back at day 0. So does QC Verified basically mean everything is in-line and just waiting approval now?

Cerus Posted June 15, 2016 at 06:38 PM Share Posted June 15, 2016 at 06:38 PM (edited) Card in hand today yay! Grabbed the mail on my way to Wally World. Guess I'll have to come back later for my walk. Applied 4/9 Active 6/8 Card doesn't feel as sturdy as the FOID - kinda weird. Edit: Scratch that - my memory is terrible apparently. Cards feel identical. Edited June 15, 2016 at 07:42 PM by Cerus

I'd assume that the office will be flooded with new applicants and they might slow down with what happened at Orlando, so who knows when ours will be here. Got to get stuff before the dealers wise up and jack up the prices.

I thought it was odd as well that the CCL came so quickly. Few folks active the same day as me got there a couple days sooner than me even. Probably closer to where they're mailed from I guess since I'm way down south.

That sucks, I might have jumped the shark a bit. A FFL has a firearm and I obviously can't pick it up without my FOID. The 23rd will be 30 days. I did see plenty of folks getting their FOID (recently) before the 30 day mark, so I might have gotten overly optimistic. I am very glad I got both my CCL and FOID application in pre-Orlando, tho. CCL times seem to be ~60 days right now, hopefully a flood of new applicants doesn't slow that down. Here's to hoping mine was in the mail before Orlando. Cerus Posted June 17, 2016 at 06:15 PM Share Posted June 17, 2016 at 06:15 PM Not sure if ya meant it this way but the 30 day law is for approving or denying. Doesn't count them taking weeks to mail it to you

You can certainly use the CCL to buy things. I haven't had trouble.

Negative, I applied for my CCL once my FOID went 'active' - I imagine I won't see the CCL for 60+ days. Just also purchased a firearm when the FOID went Active, so my FFL obviously needs to see the FOID before I can pick it up.

What is the average time that it takes to ship out? I submitted my application on 5/12.

Is the printer broken again? :-) Are they at the beginning or the end of a cycle collecting cards for a bulk batch send out? Id say give it 2 weeks and be happy if it arrives sooner. I think mine was around 3-5 days IIRC.

woyteg Posted June 27, 2016 at 05:42 PM Share Posted June 27, 2016 at 05:42 PM My understanding is that when it goes active it means that the card was ordered and then the process is automatic since. Feds are doing it with Green Cards and it takes them 5 days from order to mailbox. I am waiting too, my got Active this morning as well.

Willborio Posted June 27, 2016 at 07:10 PM Share Posted June 27, 2016 at 07:10 PM I went active today after a long 14 week wait. Today was exactly 14 weeks. Glad the checking 5 days a week is over. No I didn't have prints. So it took 98 days without them.

SoILL Posted June 29, 2016 at 12:14 AM Share Posted June 29, 2016 at 12:14 AM Applied without prints on 3/30Active on 6/27 Not too bad, now just have to play the waiting game... I suppose I will not have to wait to get a new FOID card though. I noticed after I took the CC class that I hadn't updated my address from when I moved. Went ahead and applied for an address change first and received my new FOID card. When it went active yesterday, I noticed my CCL number matches my current FOID number. Willborio Posted June 29, 2016 at 05:03 PM Share Posted June 29, 2016 at 05:03 PM You got your ccl approved without the foid address matching it? Wow if that's the case you're lucky. I changed my foid address first cause I was told there is no way the ccl will be approved if the foid didn't match. And I had to wait 6 weeks for them to get my foid updated. You dodged a bullet with that one. Lol
