I was wondering what the two other guys who post in the Walmart thread think of the ATN X-Sight HD Day/Night rifle scopes:

.

I have a lot of experience with NV beginning with the Gen 1s way back in VN and then later on active duty going through PVS-5 and then PVS 7 and finally the PVS 14 which is still pretty much the ultimate non-thermal NV device

This one is digital which i am pretty sure means that an IR source will not work. Having the ability to illuminate a target with IR while using a NV device increases the vision ability 100 fold

Because it is supposedly both for day and night, I would be very skeptical that it would so either well.

If you can't afford thermal, the best NV you could buy with a reasonable price tag is probably a Gen 2 but I wouldn't get anything that was supposedly good for both day and night time use.

found a video. This is a raccoon at about 30 yards under a full moon and using IR illumination. This is definitely not Gen 1 level and much better. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I wish i hadn't seen this:

Is this Federal judge trying to kill off the "Walmart thread"?

Ordered Walmart to allow shareholders to vote on firearms and related sales.

A way around that ruling would be for a Walmart to rent out a store front within the Walmart to a willing FFL holder and sell the remaining inventory to that holder at a discounted rate while still selling ammo and accessories in the sporting goods area and referring gun purchases to the FFL in exchange for percentages of each purchase. By doing this it would stop this deprivation of rights disguised as shareholder rights.

Walmart can appeal and they should.

It sets a dangerous precedent. I bet this same judge would rule against shareholders voting on Walmart taking birth control.off the shelves. If you go down this path, shareholders will demand votes on all sorts of stuff, and will attempt to misuse the shareholder's vote to push all sorts of agendas.

If shareholders are allowed to vote on whether Walmart can sell guns and if so what kinds they can sell than shareholders could vote to not hire people of certain ethnicities or they could vote which drugs the pharmacy is allowed to sell. The shareholders could vote that Walmart must integrate solar panels and windmills all over the surface of their roof. They could vote to make Walmart to sell thing below cost thus causing bankruptcy and job losses as well as causing hardships for those that depend on food and clothing from Walmart.
