TyGuy Posted May 24, 2013 at 05:16 AM Posted May 24, 2013 at 05:16 AM Have fun Anyone willing to text me when SB2193 comes up?
cls74 Posted May 24, 2013 at 05:20 AM Posted May 24, 2013 at 05:20 AM When they adjourned today, they called for a 9:30 start time. Never hurts to be early, but we know they won't be on time either way. Still contemplating attending this session, but I'd probably have to sit through a couple caucuses or something.

I'm thinking about attending the senate session. There is just something about watching the Senate President having to grin and bear it in his own ballpark that sounds worth seeing. I'm a voyeur I guess...

OK, 9:30 is confirmed and corrected above. I wasn't able to hear the adjournment yesterday and thought someone had said 9 o'clock.
Jfl0 Posted May 24, 2013 at 06:08 AM Posted May 24, 2013 at 06:08 AM I'm looking forward to the vote. Time is running out for all parties involved.

Plus an hour of personal privileges, patting each other on the back, and giving props on their fancy hats.
mauserme Posted May 24, 2013 at 10:54 AM Author Posted May 24, 2013 at 10:54 AM I expect things to move quickly today. They want to vote on this before the weekend and it's Friday, which often means and earlier adjournment.
ADANK Posted May 24, 2013 at 11:10 AM Posted May 24, 2013 at 11:10 AM Can anybody tell me what Amendment 02 on 2193 is about? I know it says technical corrections I was just curious what has been "corrected". Also if 2193 passes or any bill for that matter, will it be 180 days untill an application will be available? I couldn't really find it on the bill when I was skimming over at home. Thanks
Joebie Posted May 24, 2013 at 11:13 AM Posted May 24, 2013 at 11:13 AM Today will be interesting. Have fun Anyone willing to text me when SB2193 comes up? I plan on listening... at this point in time. lol

Thanks The only thing I saw that is of any affect is the part where the ISP now gets 60 days to come up with training guidelines. I can't remember of the top of my head whether preiously it was 30 or 45 days. Believe me it sounds like allot but I know that working with the state the sign off on these things takes forever and allot of these guys are working on shortened schedules because of budgets. Really makes no difference because of the 180 days to implement that the bill gives the ISP.

Thanks Mostly technical changes to medical terminology (and what greybeard said) for to use federal guidelines for to determine if someone has a disqualifying condition. It is covered in yesterdays General Assembly thread. (NOT directed at you Adank)This may get quite crazy in here today, for before Mauserme has to say it, lets keep things on topic and about todays events. 2193 has been beat to death already in other threads.

Graybeard Posted May 24, 2013 at 12:10 PM Posted May 24, 2013 at 12:10 PM Today will certainly be an interesting day!! Yes very interesting I think the only thing that may be more interesting will be when 2193 goes to the Senate. We'll see one very upset President Cullerton. He is loosing everyt time he turns around.

mauserme Posted May 24, 2013 at 12:23 PM Author Posted May 24, 2013 at 12:23 PM Being sent back to the Senate for concurrence requires only passage in the House today. I believe that will happen today, but I don't think the Senate will vote this soon

What are the odds (if called early enough on) that it could make its way to the senate today (I wonder)... not likely, althought it is the beginning of a long weekend and democrats may think that they have to passit and bury itin the three day weekend news because everybody is way too busy b-b-qing. Miracles do happen!
