Economic Recovery and Combating Gangs in the Suburbs Among Topics To Be Discussed

 

 

Dear Friends,

At 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, I’ll host an open town hall meeting at the Palatine Township Center. We’ll talk about key congressional issues, like my efforts to prevent a massive federal tax hike and bring more jobs to the 10th District. I’ve also asked state Sen. Matt Murphy of Palatine to provide an update on the governor’s proposed 50 percent income tax increase.

 

We’ll also talk about the rise of suburban street gangs that threaten our communities. According to a new federal report, Illinois has more gang members per capita than any other state in the country. These gangs bring with them drugs and high-powered weapons that can easily overwhelm a suburban police department. These are liberal code words for "Reinstituting the failed Assault weapons Ban"

In addition to crime, the suburbs have seen a rise in kids overdosing on heroin in the last four months. The high-purity heroin comes from Mexican drug cartels. We now have three such cartels working in the Chicago area - the “Federation,” the “Gulf Central” Cartel and the “Juarez” Cartel. I’ll discuss new federal legislation to help law enforcement combat this worrying trend. Like gutting the Second Amendment. {Sorry folks, that was an editorial comment}

Went to his website and saw that he also is in bed with the Sierra Club. Tried to e-mail him, but he only accepts mail from people in his district. Short sighted IMO. I could stomach his liberal nonsense better if he were a Dem instead of a RINO. I really detest RINO's more than Liberal Dems. . And yes, I am aware there are decent Dems out there. I voted for one, Careen Gordan.

The IL Republican Party endorses the Second Amendment and the right to carry. Please print as many flyers as you can to hand out at the meeting - Please make sure Mr. Kirk gets one - I don't think he knows his party platform like he should!

As many of you may know, 10th District Congressman Mark Kirk is certainly no friend of the law-abiding firearm owner. Over the years, he has supported every gun bill to come down the pike. Most recently , he sponsored federal legislation that would revive and toughen the Clinton assault weapons ban.

 

NOW MARK KIRK WANTS TO BE EITHER YOUR NEXT GOVERNOR, OR YOUR NEXT U.S. SENATOR

 

While Mark Kirk is trying to make up his mind, you have an opportunity to give him a piece of yours. On Saturday, April 25, 2009, Mark Kirk will be holding a town hall meeting on Combating Gangs in the Suburbs. Of course Kirk's plan to combat gangbangers centers around law-abiding gun owners giving up their gun rights.

 

MARK KIRK NEEDS TO HEAR FROM YOU THAT YOU WILL NOT TAKE IT ON THE CHIN ON BEHALF OF THUGS AND GANG BANGERS

 

If Kirk is going to run for state-wide office, he needs to understand that he must represent everyone in the state not just the latte-lovers of the 10th District. The Blago-backlash will certainly impact the 2010 campaigns of both Senator Roland Burris and Governor Pat Quinn. Therefore, it's up to YOU, the law-abiding firearm owner, to give Mark Kirk a lesson in the significance of the 2nd Amendment. So, here's what you have to do to help ensure that gun rights remain at the forefront of both the Senatorial and Gubernatorial campaigns in 2010.

 

1. Be sure to attend Mark Kirk's Town Hall Meeting. The meeting will be held on Saturday, April 25th at 2:00 PM. The location for the meeting is the Palatine Township Center, 721 Quentin Road, Palatine, Illinois.

 

2. When you arrive at the Town Hall Meeting, quickly seek out Mark Kirk. Identify yourself as a law-abiding Illinois gun owner.

 

3. Politely ask Kirk direct questions about his views on private firearm ownership. Ask him why he introduced the legislation renewing the Clinton gun ban. Ask Kirk if he knows that there are over 1.5 million law-abiding firearm owners in Illinois and whether he realizes that, as either governor or senator, he would have the obligation to represent their interests.

 

4. Ask any other questions that you feel are pertinent.

 

5. Be sure to wear IGOLD shirts, buttons and/or hats.

He started before the event did, taunting (relentlessly...) some other people who came there with an issue,

some sign holders for health care "reform".

 

He addressed the whole crowd before Kirk got there, "how many people are for the second amendment",

"how many people have health care"...

 

He interrupted Kirk a few times while Kirk was talking about some issues,

and during Q&A session (first was State Senator Murphy) interrupted more frequently,

[and just like at Wheaton...] culminating in standing up,

spewing about 30 seconds of general venom about the 2nd Amendment,

and making a scene while leaving.

 

He was gone before Kirk started taking any questions.

The real question is if Kirk does run for senate, almost all the media and party will get behind him. How do you force him to move to our side, or do you figure that Alexi is gone take the dem side and just write it off?

I know Giannoulias has the Daley inside track to some degree, but he's attackable by association. Schakowsky's shown (me, anyway) a pretty decent coat of Teflon.

I do believe, though, that Kirk has enough flexibility to be bent our way a trifle. My take on his anti-gun posturing so far has been that it's more political than heartfelt. In the 10th, being antigun is a big plus with the wealthier folks, the ones filling the campaign coffers.

In other words, I've always believed he was doing it for the money. I know, never heard of such a thing.

Once he goes statewide, I think he could be nudged a bit.

But there’s a whole lot more to the Schakowsky-Creamer-Obama relationship. Tom Roeser wrote July 12, 2007, on his blog (emphasis added):

 

Robert Creamer, the husband of U. S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill) who was sentenced to jail for running a community group and paying himself big bucks while banks held the bag, has been teaching a group of young (mostly) volunteers for the presidential campaign of Barack Obama, I am exclusively revealing today.

Nothing wrong with Creamer earning a living. Indeed not long ago he surfaced as a registered lobbyist working against the Senate confirmation of UN ambassador John Bolton, paid by the George Soros-funded “Open Society Policy Center.” But the idea of a convicted felon who kited checks lecturing the supposedly idealistic Obama campaign on how to raise money and get elected is a bit much.

 

Creamer taught at “Camp Obama,” a week-long summer camp last month held at the presidential candidate’s office in Chicago for campaign interns and volunteers–just a few blocks away from the federal court where on August 31, 2005 he pleaded guilty to charges of bank fraud and failure to pay federal taxes…on charges brought by U. S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald. He admitted in his 18-page signed plea agreement that he wrote checks on accounts that lacked funds and did so repeatedly as he moved money from one account to another in three banks. He had a multiple group of organizations that received money, the best known being the “Illinois Public Action Council” a left-wing group on which his wife, Jan Schakowsky, was a board member while the manipulating was going on. She was already in Congress when he pleaded guilty; she was not charged.

 

Creamer’s retention to instruct the Obama for President campaign is probably the most revelatory hint that the hopeful, idealistic, whimsical message floated by the candidate is mere vapor obscuring a cynical operation…unless, of course, the Obama people had no idea of Creamer or what his past represents.

Just a note - I "gave it" to Rep. Kirk regarding his "high powered" and "high caliber" arguments during the town hall itself when I spoke to him after the event was over. I told him "I know that you understand that common hunting weapons are both of higher caliber and of higher power than so called assault weapons - and to keep using this tired argument is disingenuous." He countered that "well, Heller was pretty specific -" to which I replied "Yes, that weapons in common use cannot be the target of a ban - and that includes the AR-15 and AK platforms."

 

He didn't have any reply other than to talk about Heller and try to reassure me that going after my guns was unconstitutional. I replied that being unconstitutional only restricts a government who intends on not breaking the law.

 

I get the feeling that he is catering to his constituency but knows he is in the wrong place on this issue.

 

Just my opinion.

 

 

By the way, I really wish I took a picture of the blow-hard so we could keep an eye on him. His wife has a vaguely Sarah Palin haircut and I believe I could have used that to ask for permission to take their picture.
