I see there's a good 2A lawyer up there today.
-
A guy on FB went under board review, submitted his response and went active 50 hours after he hit send.
-
Probably same as when it was 30 days... nothing.So............what happens if one is still "under review" after 60 days?
Or approved, but no new card in hand after 60 days?
A lawsuit could be filed, but by the time it gets to court the plaintiff would have their card and the case would get tossed.
-
They have 60 days to process renewals. If he submitted and is just waiting for his card, relax. He's still valid till the new card comes.

Is the form notarized?

This^^I don't really care about FSB's manpower problems. ISP is mandated to make this deadline and fails to do so. They could issue temporary FOIDs as they complete the check, streamline the process, contract it out, or any of dozens of possibilities to meet the deadline.
If this were about something minor we could let it slide, but this is -- as others have no doubt ranted before -- and infringement on a Constitutional right. I've got a squeaky clean background, high-level clearance, etc. Perfect for a lawsuit to challenge this nonsense.
It's not our fault ISP cannot fulfill the duties mandated by law they perform. If they are unable to follow the law it should be repealed.

If you intend to stay a NC resident you cannot get a FOID or CCL. You can car carry on your NC permit.
Yes, you can have firearms in your house. The carrying on your property might be a little fuzzy.
If you are going to get an IL drivers license and become a resident here in the land of suck, then apply for your FOID as soon as you get your DL.
You can take the CCL training now and get that out of the way.
-
Maybe the ACLU would take it on...
-
Yes, it has to be notarized.
-
I went to FL and did mine. Much more enjoyable doing it that way. Had the license in 23 days.
How'd you go about that process? I've been sort of looking into it but am unsure of how to do so.Has anyone put in an application for the Florida CCL?
I'd wager there's a large percentage of the membership here who have a Florida non-resident permit, myself included.
-
You can try another lawsuit, but you will be 21 by the time it's decided.

Fortunate this thread has popped up. I just renewed my ratings (expire next month) and it slipped my mind to send ISP a copy.
-
It would depend on the reason for denial.
-
The process to appeal a FOID revocation takes 2.5 to 3 years unless something has changed radically and quietly.
This wasn't a revocation, this was a denial, according to the OP.
A denial based on something that happened more than 5 years ago.

I would guess that they didn't update their regulations when the FCCL was implemented. IANAL but my take is your good anywhere in the preserve except buildings and the playground.

Regarding safe haven in a vehicle. O'hare airport has signs posted at the guard post entrance that say no firearms. I work at the airport and enter the property far away from the terminal. I would like to stop at the range on my way to work sometimes but I am not sure I can have my firearms in my trunk. I could break them down and put them in a locked case. I just want to know the law in case they do a random vehicle search. I guess the question is, does "no firearms" mean not allowed on property under no exceptions?
Regardless of if it's criminally legal or illegal, if you in violation of employer work rules they can fire you.

Great Idea. Now lets work on T-Shirts, special for these events. And a bus...
The only news of the event I heard on TV was that the NRA was making a counter protest. They gave the numbers for Flagers Followers but never mentioned how many "NRA" protesters there were. Go figure.
T-shirts and buses cost money.
Bloomberg is paying the bills for them, including DD donuts and coffee in the morning a lunch for them.
While it was reported we were 'NRA' protesters, it was the ISRA that sent out the original alert and call to arms. It spread quickly through social media. Yet we could only muster 60-70 'counter protesters' out of 30k ISRA members and over 1 million FOID card holders.

Who would I speak to at Chuck's about an idea I'd like to run by them?
Talk to Todd. They are friends.

What if you don't have a fax machine?
Go to Staples office center.

My legal counsel says to stay quiet. Kane County. Check with your instructors.
Ok, I can understand not naming names right now.
But, can you say if you believe that the training you received met state standards and no short cuts were taken.

For those that can't open it try this, I opened it in Nitro 8, optimized it and re-saved so hopefully that fixed any anomalies...
Nope, still no joy...
Just to narrow it down, here it is uploaded off site, see if this works... If so it's obviously an issue with the forum...
Also try right clicking and save as...
This works both left click (opens to a new window) and right click save.
The other links will sometimes stay at 0 d/l or start the d/l and stop and different points along the way.

I still couldn't do either using Chrome. Tried both logged in and logged out.
Used IE and it worked.
Some digging shows that this is a known Chrome problem with a recent update. They stopped using Adobe flash and now use something called Pepper flash.
There are ways around it.
I haven't tried it yet so I don't want to recommend anything specific.
Maybe some of the IT guru's here can help.

Works for me, but just in case, here it is after opening and saving it again.
Still won't open for me. Using Adobe Reader X

Add $25. I haven't been around here for a while as other interests have taken the forefront, but we need all hands to fight this tyranny.
