List updated to include: Tkj5 West Frankfort, IL Johnson Firearm Training On another note, and with the permission of ILCARRY admin staff, I am looking to turn this project over to someone else. It's easy work but I am slated to retire and move to Florida in about 6 months. I intend to clear off some stuff, this being one of those things. Thanks!

So is there any kind of mobile app with this new site, if Tapatalk won't work? This is a bummer.

FOID Modernization (HB562) Signed Into Law
Craigcelia replied to mauserme's topic in Illinois Politics
I beat you to Florida, it is a different firearms world. If you hold a Florida Concealed Weapons permit no wait time to purchase a firearm. Residents application fee $97 (including fingerprints) Renewal $45. Seven year renewal. I can't wait to shred this FOID card into a billion pieces and mail it to the ISP with my love letter. I have a place already about 40 minutes south of Tampa so I travel there frequently. -

I'll let you all know how freedom feels after I retire and sell my house in April and permanently move to Florida. I can't take this state anymore. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk -

This is nothing more than a nicey, feeley piece of junk legislation. -
Per handgunlaw.us: Chicago Forest Preserves / Laser Sights! Forest Preserves Rules of Cook County Firearms and other concealed weapons are not allowed on Forest Preserves of Cook County property, except by police officers or active-duty servicemen and women ________________________________ 8-20-060 Possession of a Laser Sight Accessory, Firearm Silencer or Muffler. (a) It is unlawful for any person to carry, possess, display for sale, sell or otherwise transfer any laser sight accessory, or a firearm silencer or muffler. ( The provisions of this section shall not apply to any members of the armed forces of the United States, or the organized militia of this or any other state, or peace officers, to the extent that any such person is otherwise authorized to acquire or possess a laser sight accessory, or firearm silencer or muffler, and is acting within the scope of his duties. © Any laser sight accessory, or firearm silencer or muffler, carried, possessed, displayed or sold in violation of this section is hereby declared to be contraband and shall be seized by and forfeited to the city. J. 7-2-10, p. 96234, § 4) Note: The city of Chicago ordinance above and the Police Dept Notice to Officers stating to confiscate firearms with an attached laser sight is in effect in Chicago. Chicago is in the process of rewriting their firearm laws (9/11/13) to comply with the new state preemption and I am hearing that this is being removed in the new ordinance but looking at the bill I do not see this being removed. Use Caution! www.handgunlaw.us 8 The Below listed cities in Illinois also ban Laser Sights. (There could be others) Cicero, IL Sec. 62-195 Thornton, IL Sec. 10-1A-13 Or, page 7 here: https://handgunlaw.us/states/illinois.pdf

In short, No. You won't find a public copy anywhere. If you are a member you can log onto the website and you will be able to see more than the general public can. But I do not believe a copy of the bylaws exists on the website, member or not. Officers are appointed by the board. There is a nomination committee. Call the office to find out when the meetings are. Good luck. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

conceal carry training certificate
Craigcelia replied to Beastmod's topic in Illinois Right to Keep and Carry
I think his cert would still be valid. Unless he used it already, which he didn't. He just has to get the updated certificate from his instructor. I agree with Bubbacs Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk -
That's a good question. Maybe because they have to take the time to reprint new cards, process the money transactions, etc? Just guessing here.....

You may be surprised (or not) to hear the Board has little say with what the organization stands behind, until it's a done deal. In my opinion, as a former board member there is too much of a disconnect, and that is part of the reason I stepped down years ago. That being said, there are several good reasons to be a member and to support the cause but I can also understand the bad taste it leaves with the membership. I still support the organization as a whole, but to be put in a position as a board member when internal communication is non-existent is a useless waste of my own time and resources.

Appealing a FOID denial from years ago?
Craigcelia replied to nbartlet's topic in Illinois Right to Keep and Carry
Man, there are a lot of moving parts here. I would think to get through the tangled mess, perhaps look into hiring an attorney (maybe in Illinois?). I would think it would be easier and less expensive than renting an apartment just to enable residency. Just my two cents worth. -
Funny you posted this. Im looking into retiring in less than a year and a half to Florida and not keeping my Illinois Instructor certification. In fact, im going to burn my FOID card as soon as I get my new FL license. Ill send them back the ashes with a letter. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

FOID and CCL - do you carry both?
Craigcelia replied to DarkLord's topic in Illinois Right to Keep and Carry
I carry both, mainly out of habit.
