  1. You need to set aside an hour of time and commit to calling consistently until you get through to somebody.
  2. FOID went active as of today. 1/09/2020. 48 days...let’s see how long it takes to get in the mail. Thank you everyone for the help!!
  3. If ya called once and got through and talked to a customer service rep, why call a second time and talk to a rep again? Illinois, if at first your vote don’t take, vote again! lol I called the first time with an application question. I called the second time after my application had been under review for 31 calendar days.
  4. How badly do you want to get ahold of ISP? I have gotten through to them each time I called, but I had to sit there, dial the number, and select “0” to get to a customer service agent for about 30 mins straight. I literally called 50 times the first time before I got through and 60 times the second. I enjoyed bombarding the phone line. It’s petty but I’ll sit and wait to make them talk to me.
  5. Hey Everyone, I have an 8 year old who I would like to take shooting at some point. Is he young enough to not need a FOID card? It seems crazy he would need one since hes 8...Im learning not to count it out so I want to check. I also wanted to start a thread for others who may be curious. What age are minors required to have one?
  6. 43 Days and counting on the new FOID application...at this point I just want to see how long it takes them..
  7. No. I’m at 35 calendar days. Nothing. Well, my app moved to “QC Verified” status yesterday...The law does not say 30 business days it says calendar days. I called ISP yesterday and the lady I spoke to was apologetic and told me they would be working on it...
  8. http://illinoiscarry.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=59738 "I believe the first stage of the approval process is where the ISP checks to make sure the current info is entered, good photo, right certificate. Application then moves on to the background checks." Quoted this from the linked topic Thanks Gpop!
  9. I have now moved to “QC Verified” using the inspect element trick. What does this mean?
  10. I used the Inspect Element tool. Great trick - thank you. Unfortunately, the status of my FOID is still "Under Review"...so much for the 30 day application process for new FOID cards.
  11. I have not. I saw something on this in another thread but could not right click on the text that says “Under Review”. Is there something I’m missing?
  12. My new FOID application is still Under Review and its been 31 days since I applied. Whats the deal? Is this normal?
  13. Another question here - sorry. I have two middle names. My drivers license shows my middle names as they are JOSHUA KEKOA. The FOID application asks you to put in your middle name. Since I have both middle names on my DL I figure I should include them in my FOID application. For the middle name field I was going to put JOSHUA KEKOA. Does anyone have two names or have experience/input on the above? My DL has my address and name in all caps so I was going to apply with it as such. Thanks again

  15. Washington is pretty gun friendly. Open carry is a constitutional right over 18, ccl is just $50 and you simply go to the courthouse to apply for it and they issue in less than two weeks. The FOID is new and....interesting...to me. I am surprised. I feel like I moved to a different country. Wish I didn’t need to jump through all these hoops just to own my firearm, but it is what it is. Thank you all for the responses.
  16. Hey everyone, Im new to illinois. I have just gotten my DL and Im on to applying for FOID. I know I have 60 days. Im from WA state and have had my CCL there. My question is I saw the FOID application step-by-step on the ISP website and it had a box to put in hair color. It worries me because my IL DL does not show my hair color as a field on the license. With how nit-picky the FOID process is with exactly matching your DL, I worry? Does the hair color field matter? Has anyone been rejected because they have a mismatching color? It sounds silly but my hair color is brown/black depending on who is looking. The Secretary of States office made mention of it to me when I applied for a new license but I didnt think much of it. Can I apply and then edit my application on Tuesday if I need to? I am pretty sure the SOS office put black hair color but I cant remember for sure and its not displayed on my DL. Now Im worried its going to get kicked back to me. Thanks in advance for the responses. This forum has been read a lot by me prior to moving and theres good info on here. Thank you all.
