Growing up in Guacamole under a totalitarian government they have zero understanding or respect for the Constitution or Bill of Rights and will have no trouble enforcing his new gun laws. 😠

Illinois is rapidly approaching the date when Illinois residents must register many different guns the government considers assault weapons or face huge fines and years in prison. The problem is, the guns they want registered are only officially listed on the ISP website. Further, they can only be registered in a complicated process also on the ISP website. Granted if you are reading this, you have both computer and internet access and the knowledge of how to use both. My question is: How do those less educated or too elderly, or those too poor to own or access computers and the internet even know they are about to become felons? While I know this plays into the Governor's view of life, it seems very unfair to me. It seems even more disgraceful that our local (Illinois) media isn't reporting on this issue.

To address the constant quoting of only 10% (on the average) have FOID cards: That is faulty math because one of premise used is invalid. Of the total population, how many are children too young to have a FOID card? How many are elderly and in assisted care or skilled care facilities? How many would not qualify for a FOID card. How many households mistakenly believe that only one person in a household needs a FOID card? How many households have guns with no, or an expired, FOID card in a household? My somewhat informed guess is that about 30% of our voters in Illinois own guns, and that is a much better number to consider. But, that is a guess no matter how informed I believe it to be.
