  1. When a judge writing an opinion resorts to "the feelz", they probably don't have the Constitution on their side....and they know it.
  2. Here's predicting that nothing that can get 60 votes in the Senate will pass in the House.
  3. We got a mailer yesterday from a Democrat Party outfit (can't remember the name), telling us that Darren Bailey is too conservative for IL. Now, that is likely true for Cook and perhaps the collar counties. Down here? They wasted their money sending it.
  4. ....but apparently not for the Big Guy's son. And be sure to follow the link in the third paragraph. https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/on-gun-crime-the-problem-is-named-biden/
  5. ....like a tyrant. "You will not stop us from passing it in the House next week and you will not stop us. If the filibuster obstructs us, we will abolish it. If the Supreme Court objects, we will expand it. We will not rest until we have taken weapons of war out of circulation in our communities." https://townhall.com/tipsheet/juliorosas/2022/06/02/democrat-congressman-vows-to-get-rid-of-norms-to-pass-gun-control-bills-n2608139
  6. Apparently, the White House is in clean up mode about this as well. https://townhall.com/tipsheet/leahbarkoukis/2022/06/01/wh-cleans-up-bidens-handgun-comment-n2608055 "There’s simply no rational basis for it in terms of self protection, hunting," he added, per pool report. It would seem that the 9mm's supposed powers would be quite effective for self defense, and hunting as well. As if the 2A had anything to with hunting.
  7. From page 7 of the bill. Wouldn't this take care of the pre-serial number issue? " 18 (h) Exceptions. This Section does not apply to an 19 unserialized unfinished frame or receiver or an unserialized 20 firearm that: 21 (1) has been rendered permanently inoperable; 22 (2) is an antique firearm, as defined in 18 U.S.C. 23 921(a)(16); 24 (3) was manufactured prior to October 22, 1968;
  8. Anybody else get another anti-Bailey flyer in the mail today? I wonder if this stuff is going statewide, or just downstate? I'm going to guess it's only going to folks that have voted in past Republican primaries.
  9. I got an Irvin campaign nastygram in the mail today, aimed at both Bailey and Sullivan. And taking a shot at the Democrats for sticking their noses in the Republican primary to boot. I don't ever recall this much interest in a Republican primary for governor. Hopefully it will lead to the best candidate (whichever one that is) winning.
  10. I don't pretend to know who would have a chance of beating JB. If the commercials airing (on cable, anyway) in the metro-east are any indication, I know who the Democrats are worried about. And that's Irvin.
  11. I find it humorous that the Democrats are accusing Irvin (in his former capacity as a defense attorney) of being soft on criminals.
  12. "...the courts will decide." IOW, they don't care if it's legal, or not. Just gonna do it.
