As I posted earlier, it's not just ammo sales that are affected; it's also online gun purchases. You must show the online seller a valid picture of your FOID and drivers license to purchase any ammo or any gun online. The online sellers most likely will just say NO MORE sales to Illinois if they have to check validity. I hope Molly gets on this pronto. I really don't understand the purpose of having no expiration date on the FOID card, other than to restrict purchases by lawful citizens.
Also, I have a membership at Shoot Point Blank, and every time I use the range, I have to show them my ID and FOID card. If the card does not have an expiration date, that means they will have to run a check each time I use the range, and that's absolutely ridiculous and time consuming.

Online ammo/gun sellers will not like checking the status of your card, so I believe they just won't ship to Illinois. No expiration date on the card is another form of GUN CONTROL and should be rectified immediately!

What about this
My renewal still waiting it's been over 100 days
(430 ILCS 65/5) (from Ch. 38, par. 83-5) (b]
Renewal applications shall be approved or denied within 60 business days, provided the applicant submitted his or her renewal application prior to the expiration of his or her Firearm Owner's Identification Card
The rules don't seem to apply to the ISP.

I would definitely wait till 21. Molly has quite a bit of experience in matters like this, and I haven't read any bad advice that she has given. It's a shame you have to jump through hoops,

Fair or not fair doesn't matter if you qualify as requested. I think he is good to go. The other people that had problems did not have a dismissal, if I remember correctly.
-
His charge was dismissed, so how/why can that deny his FOID application? I understand expunging the record, but in this case it was a dismissal and should not count against him..

I think your doctor would be better qualified to answer your question than most members on this forum. Just my opinion.

My FOID was issued in April of 2014, and I received my CCL in April of 2016. They sent me a new FOID card (10 days after the CCL), with a new number that matches the CCL new number.
-
I just got off the phone with ISP inquiring why I haven't received my new FOID card that went active on 5/6/16. I couldn't get a reason from them, only that they will have to send another print order. That leads me to believe that it was never printed in the first place.
Bummer, my new FOID came in the mail 10 days after the CCL.

My original FOID was 8 digits and issued in early 2014. My new CCL and new FOID numbers are 10 digits. My CCL and FOID showed active on 4-6-16, but I later learned, after I called the ISP on 4-19, that my FOID went active on 4-11. That's a 5 day gap without a valid FOID. I received my CCL on 4-11 and my new FOID card on 4-21. This might explain your problem with the FFL.

Update from the above post: I just called the ISP, and they told me my new FOID number/card went active on 4-11 and not 4-6 like the online portal said when my CCL went active on 4-6.. That's a 5 day gap between the two licenses. Anyway, he told me I should receive the new 10 digit FOID card any day now. If I don't receive it soon, a new print request can't be made until 5-11.
Finally received my new 10 digit FOID card today. Maybe the phone call to the ISP made a difference, or it was just a coincidence . I called on 4-19, and the FOID card envelope is postmarked 4-19. From 12-31-15 CCL application (without prints) to both cards in hand took 112 days total.

Mail just came, and still no new FOID card. Tomorrow will be day 14 since CCL went active on 4-6 and in hand on 4-11.
-
Mine went active 4-6, and the numbers do not match, not even close. I can't buy ammo online till I get that new FOID card, so I can take a picture of it and email it to the vendor. That's the big reason I'm aggravated with the ISP for taking so long to mail it.

CCL in hand 4-11 and still no new FOID card. Tomorrow will be day 8 waiting for new FOID. I think they do this on purpose, and it's really not amusing.
In my case, the ISP site has a new FOID number issued to me that matches the 4-06-2016 new CCL#. My old (totally different #) FOID card is invalid till I get the new one with the new number. I just want this whole process to be over with, and it seems the ISP wants to prolong the process as long as possible. Tomorrow will be day 110, and the quest still continues.

Mail just came and still no FOID card. Monday will be one week with no valid FOID card.
-
Has anyone received their new FOID card in the mail from the large group that received their CCL on 4-11-2016? I haven't yet.

Applied 2/7 without prints
Active 4/6
In hand 4/11
Not bad for without prints. congrats.
Sorry, I don't believe it. That's 59 days to active status without prints.
-
Applied 12-31-2015
Active 4-6-2016
In hand 4-11-2016
Total 102 days w/o prints

it's kinda weird that no one has posted that they've gotten their cards since last Wednesday lol. what the heck is going on?
Not only that, but nobody has posted that they went active in that same time frame. Someone posted that the printer is broken and won't be repaired till 4-10, so they probably have nothing to mail and won't activate any current approved staus applicants till that one and only printer is ready to print. I've been approved for the past 6 days, and I'm at day 96.

It's my understanding that the buyer has to produce their FOID card during the initial contact and again after the waiting period.

Ok, someone please answer this question. Why did they eliminate the expiration date? I can't think of anything other than making life more difficult for lawful gun owners.
