    I didn't want post this on the message board, but the governor can backdoor remove the sheriff by removing their certification to be a police officer.

      The Governor doesn't have the power to do so, as the sheriff is elected by the people, the only way to remove a sheriff is by having a recall election or the county coroner can fire him.
