  1. Made it out alive. I only saw one sign the whole trip and it wasn't even posted near the entrance of the bar. I played it safe and left it locked up when I knew we were going to be drinking though.
  2. So it looks like zero tolerance from the above quote? Obviously only in an establishment that serves anyways. As I read it, I can be under the influence and carry as long as the place does not serve alcohol, ie: the street.
  3. I am going to TN (Nashville) this weekend. I can find general rules online, but not their actual law as written. I am mostly concerned about the bars at night. I was there over winter and there are some shady characters that roam the streets at night time. One website says "under the influence" is not allowed to carry. The other ones say "not allowed any alcoholic beverage and carrying". Does anyone know how the law is written word for word? I know they started allowing firearms in bars around 2010 from my googling. Trying to find if it's worded like IL though.
  4. Where and how much? I noticed Blazer is creeping up in price. I think I paid $11 for 50 at the range in October. In Dec I paid $1 more for the same stuff from the same range. Dicks had a good sale in Dec. They had the cans with 350rnd I believe. About $65 with rebate. Just got my check from blazer last week. Same deal with the 45, but only 200 rnds I think. Lake county tax was cheaper than shipping would had been. Good prices with $7 plastic cans.Targetsportsusa.com It was 23 cents a round (free shipping). Not a killer deal but I wanted 124 gr. Seems like 115 was the last to dry up after SH. So I'll settle for that later if I have to. Walmart seems to run a few cents more per round, at least for brass case. Their perfecta is brass and shoots pretty good. 21 cents/round tax included. Otherwise I keep an eye out for deals on wwb and blazer.
  5. Just bought a case of Blazer Brass 9mm last week. I am going to be keeping an eye on 9mm availability for sure. I will be ordering more in the next few months. Worth keeping an eye on. 6. Posted in the Back Room a thread couple weeks ago about lack of ammo at my Local Walmart. Went to my 2 usual ones again this weekend and the shelves were bare. No 9mm except a few 50 round boxes of WWB. Not even any steel case. 45 was down to a few WWB and misc brands. I like to pick up the Perfecta because of the cost, both were out. Usually that is no problem picking up. 38spc was pretty low. 22LR was starting to be seeing on the shelves at both stores and I was able to start stocking a few boxes at a time. Last 2 trips- nothing. Hope we don't see a 9mm shortage this year.
  7. In my work travels today: Shorewood Walmart- shelves almost empty no 22 labels even. 9mm very few boxes of WWB Country Club Hills Walmart- DOES NOT SELL AMMO! But, they do sell some cheap gun safes which I have not see at any other Walmart that sells ammo. Stopped by the Gander mountain in Bolingbrook area. They were at $.38/round for 9MM Blazer Brass. What the hey!!!. And that was their sale price.
  8. Yes, the entire county got a sales tax increase. Where have you been? Not only do I buy my ammo in Lake or McHenry Counties (I live in Cook, but right on the border), I also grocery shop, buy clothes, and anything else possible outside the county. I must have missed it! I thought just the city was adding tax, guess I was mistaken and it's the whole damn county. What a bummer. According to this: http://www.revenue.state.il.us/Publications/Bulletins/2016/FY-2016-04.pdfCook county rates can be anywhere between 7.25%-13%! Usually I buy in Lake county whenever possible as I am right on the border as well. However, the drive to a LC walmart for ammo will not pay for itself when I buy in $50-100 increments. Not to mention the ammo cabinet at the Lake Zurich Walmart is horrendous. I will have to find a different one to visit now. Last night the Walmart dude was saying how sales were down this year. Well no kidding. Cook keeps raising the taxes and thinking it's going to bring in revenue, meanwhile their sales drops because people head north or west for the same purchases. When Cook increased their liquor tax, that was the last time I ever bought booze in Cook. That's fine since my 2 favorite Binnies are in Lake County anyways.
  9. Oh What the hey!!!. Is this all of cook county? I knew Chicago went to 10.25, but now my suburb is trailing on it's tails. This sucks. The tax rate jumped by 1 percentage point, or an extra penny on the dollar. The change was effective New Year's Day. As a result, the sales tax rate climbed to 10.25 percent in Chicago and some suburbs, including Rosemont. Among the suburbs with sales tax rates now at 10 percent are Arlington Heights, Palatine, Rolling Meadows and Schaumburg. For towns that straddle county lines, such as Barrington, Buffalo Grove and Bartlett, only the Cook County portions will have the higher tax rate
  10. Did cook county raise their tax in addition to Chicago?? 2016-01-24_06-22-11 by RoyBelluomini, on Flickr
  11. Did this today. Haven't been in Walmart for a month since their shelves have been totally empty. Stopped by the Wheeling store and they had everything but 22LR. They had 22shorts in stock. Grabbed 4 boxes of 9mm Perfecta and 2 boxes of 45 Perfecta. Headed to the Palatine store and they had 22LR sitting on the shelf! No 9mm Perfecta though. Grabbed 3 boxes of the Winchester 40gr and a box of the Winchester 147 JHP to fill out the magazine after my Hornadys. Guy tells me they had the 525 round boxes sitting on the shelf all last week. Lovely. Guess I should make my weekly rounds again. I always use my CCL to purchase and never any issue. The guy that sold today worked in Auto and he was starting to give me a hard time about it. I told him it has the FOID number on it and I am allowed to use it in place of FOID so I don't need to carry both. He looked it over, read the back and said OK. The Niles store, right by my work, does not sell ammo. Which is probably a good thing for me.
  12. I stopped by. Stood around for 10 minutes by sporting goods. Walked 10 isles in either direction and not a worker in sight. I just left. Everything pretty picked over. Was gonna grab a couple boxes of 9 as long as I was there, but got tired of waiting. That's why I got in the habit of pulling out my phone and calling the main store number from right in front of the ammo case, telling them they need to send someone over to unlock it. Works like a charm! I do it every time I'm at Walmart for ammo unless a worker is right there in sporting goods. Good idea actually. I hate to patronage a store that can't manage enough employees though. It's not like they were priced aggressive or had hard to find ammo sitting there.

  14. Does anyone know if Shorewood is stocked? I am swinging by that location to visit a job.
  15. Stopped by walmart in Niles. They do not carry ammo. When I asked a guy that worked there about selling ammo, he looked at me like I had a third eye. I thought all Walmarts sold ammo, guess not.
