  1. This is good to know! Ended up not open carrying becasue most of our time was spent in Denver and I wasn't sure where the cutoff was. I also did not see anyone open carrying while we were outside of Denver, so I wasn't comfortable being the only person open carrying and freaking people out that might not be used to it. O'hare wasn't too bad. Declared my firearm. The person checking us in wanted to see that it was unloaded. I opened the case and they just looked at it and said ok. I put the flag the chamber prior to make that part easier. Then we walked with TSA to the xray machine and that was it. Picked up the baggage at baggage service once in Denver. Denver airport was the same. I left the red tag on and the people there asked me before we got in line if there was a firearm and I said yes. She put me in a different line for check in. This person did not want me to open the case like at Ohare. Same thing, TSA took it and we followed to xray. And then picked it up at service at ORD. Very easy process and almost VIP like since everyone is watching my bag the whole time.
  2. So I ordered an OWB holster for my P320C. I think once I am outside Denver county I will OC as it seems the only way to protect myself outside of the car.
  3. I don't understand the open carry being allowed, but concealed carry not being allowed. We are staying in Denver, so it seems I am pretty hosed regardless. Looks like the only place I can carry it would be my vehicle or hotel.
  4. Looks like you are correct, that I must be a resident of FL to carry legally in CO. That doesn't make much sense to me.
  5. I plan to fly Ohare to Denver Colorado (and back) with American Airlines. I checked their site and it just says to place the firearm, unloaded, into a locked container. Ammo needs to be in original packaging or container suitable for ammo. Not much other information. I have not flown in probably 10 years and haven't flown with a firearm. Can anyone help me out with a few questions. Does the Ammo go into the locked container with the firearm?Does the locked container holding the firearm go into the suitcase you are checking? ie: thrown in with your clothes.Do I just go to standard luggage check and declare that I have a firearm?I see IL CCL doesn't work in CO, but my FL license does. I will read up on local CO laws, but anything funny I should know about beforehand?
  6. Who picks up the cost for all this extra work, hiring of people and overtime? Surely the FOID card doesn't cover it...
  7. Did she get letters from ISP stating her FOID and CCL had expired? She believes she did, but not certain.
  8. Molly, my wife had her FOID and CCL expire in December last year. She also legally changed her last name and address to mine as well during that time period. What would her best route of action be? My local CC instructor says since it was Dec. she was not exempt from the Covid renewal of CCL like I am (mine expired in June but was able to renew online and need to submit renewal CC class within a year). He said she would have to submit everything new and take a new 16 hour class if she wants CCL again.
  9. Made it out alive. I only saw one sign the whole trip and it wasn't even posted near the entrance of the bar. I played it safe and left it locked up when I knew we were going to be drinking though.
  10. So it looks like zero tolerance from the above quote? Obviously only in an establishment that serves anyways. As I read it, I can be under the influence and carry as long as the place does not serve alcohol, ie: the street.
  11. I am going to TN (Nashville) this weekend. I can find general rules online, but not their actual law as written. I am mostly concerned about the bars at night. I was there over winter and there are some shady characters that roam the streets at night time. One website says "under the influence" is not allowed to carry. The other ones say "not allowed any alcoholic beverage and carrying". Does anyone know how the law is written word for word? I know they started allowing firearms in bars around 2010 from my googling. Trying to find if it's worded like IL though.
  12. Where and how much? I noticed Blazer is creeping up in price. I think I paid $11 for 50 at the range in October. In Dec I paid $1 more for the same stuff from the same range. Dicks had a good sale in Dec. They had the cans with 350rnd I believe. About $65 with rebate. Just got my check from blazer last week. Same deal with the 45, but only 200 rnds I think. Lake county tax was cheaper than shipping would had been. Good prices with $7 plastic cans.Targetsportsusa.com It was 23 cents a round (free shipping). Not a killer deal but I wanted 124 gr. Seems like 115 was the last to dry up after SH. So I'll settle for that later if I have to. Walmart seems to run a few cents more per round, at least for brass case. Their perfecta is brass and shoots pretty good. 21 cents/round tax included. Otherwise I keep an eye out for deals on wwb and blazer.
  13. Just bought a case of Blazer Brass 9mm last week. I am going to be keeping an eye on 9mm availability for sure. I will be ordering more in the next few months. Worth keeping an eye on. 14. Posted in the Back Room a thread couple weeks ago about lack of ammo at my Local Walmart. Went to my 2 usual ones again this weekend and the shelves were bare. No 9mm except a few 50 round boxes of WWB. Not even any steel case. 45 was down to a few WWB and misc brands. I like to pick up the Perfecta because of the cost, both were out. Usually that is no problem picking up. 38spc was pretty low. 22LR was starting to be seeing on the shelves at both stores and I was able to start stocking a few boxes at a time. Last 2 trips- nothing. Hope we don't see a 9mm shortage this year.
  15. In my work travels today: Shorewood Walmart- shelves almost empty no 22 labels even. 9mm very few boxes of WWB Country Club Hills Walmart- DOES NOT SELL AMMO! But, they do sell some cheap gun safes which I have not see at any other Walmart that sells ammo. Stopped by the Gander mountain in Bolingbrook area. They were at $.38/round for 9MM Blazer Brass. What the hey!!!. And that was their sale price.
