  1. It's people, not guns. People have changed. We had assault style weapons in the past without any trouble. Now we have shootings every week. Road rage unlike we ever had before. People getting pushed in front of trains. Going crazy at fast food restaurants and on airplanes. Two political parties wanting to slit each other's throats. The question is to find out why and solve the problem before it gets even worse. Yes, I'm sure it's an impossible task but lets attempt it. We won't change people's thinking but maybe we can positively influence the next generation. I know, it will never happen.
  2. Hmm, I've read sales have declined. American Gun Sales Collapse (msn.com)
  3. 2A4Cook. I agree 100% with your thinking on laser sights. I've never understood Chicago's thinking on that. Makes no sense.

  5. It's been 2 years since I had a CCL class. The ISP website has changed, and I cannot find the form to print student certificates. I would appreciate some help.
  6. Other states may not honor it because they don't know if it's expired or not.
  7. Not having an expiration date on the IL CCL, I suspect sometime soon, states that honor the Illinois CCL, will cease honoring it. Glad I have a 10-year Florida nonresident license.
  8. I know this has been talked about, but I can't find it. Is there a 1 year requirement to apply for a CCL after completing training?
  9. I read somewhere the "Rule of Thumb," is 5 rounds per bad guy. So, if you have 4 guys breaking into your house you need 20 rounds. I've read numerous times where 3 or 4 bad guys broke into a house.
  10. My EDC gun has a red laser on it. It's not green because during the day I can see my sights and agree with Alpha, it's not needed. But most shootings are in lowlight situations. That's when my laser shines! Green is too bright at night.
  11. Sec. 7-3. Use of force in defense of other property (a) A person is justified in the use of force against another when and to the extent that he reasonably believes that such conduct is necessary to prevent or terminate such other's trespass on or other tortious or criminal interference with either real property (other than a dwelling) or personal property, lawfully in his possession or in the possession of another who is a member of his immediate family or household or of a person whose property he has a legal duty to protect. However, he is justified in the use of force which is intended or likely to cause death or great bodily harm only if he reasonably believes that such force is necessary to prevent the commission of a forcible felony. Letter of the law and interpretation of the law by courts disagrees, and say deadly force is not acceptable in these circumstances. In effect, the courts have changed the law. Let the criminal have your 4k tv or car. People don't equate a human life with a piece of personal property. I tell my students to only use deadly force to avoid imminent and otherwise UNAVOIDABLE danger, death or great bodily harm to yourself or someone else. Just be a good witness.
  12. email address: instructor_docs@isp.state.il.us This was the email they told me. And you must make note that your credentials have expired and you are attaching new one.
  13. Thank you for the heads up. I just called and was told their copy showed me expired and that I would be revoked. I was given an email address and emailed a copy of new credentials. Hope they don't screw it up!
